nojomo#4 and already waaaay behind

Not surprising, that’s for sure. Oh, well. Maybe it’s actually November Journal MORE Month. And in my case it would take very few entries to be journaling more.

I don’t have a thing to say, but I am feeling pretty darned cheery right now because 1) I decided to take tomorrow off, and 2) I turned my laptop on tonight and….. by some happy magic, it is fixed!!!! Well, at least it is back to normal for now, but that’s very VERY exciting. Yay for being a procrastinator, because I had not yet gotten around to ordering another one. Very strange that it suddenly got well, though. The monitor has been all screwed up since I dropped it Monday night, and I’ve been using it every day since then anyhow because the screwed-up-edness was resulting in weird colors and pictures that looked a lot like negatives, but it still worked fine other than that. I got a private note from an ODer I didn’t know who said if the monitor wasn’t cracked and it was just weird colors, it could be that the display cable had come loose. I tested it like he suggested and it didn’t make the screen go back to normal but I still wondered if it might not be a wire or something knocked loose. And I hooked the PC monitor up to it too — the display on that was fine so I deduced that it wasn’t the motherboard. Because I am such a master of deduction.

Still, if I had to pay much to get it repaired – ie, anything, really – it was not going to be worth it because it’s been doing a few other weird alarming things sporadically that make me think it’s not going to be around forever. So I was still trying to decide what to do. Now maybe I can put it off awhile longer — I’m sure it could go all wonky again, especially if it’s a loose wire issue, but if that’s all it is it may be worth taking to the repair shop. And maybe it won’t relapse. Whatever, I’m very happy about this unexpected development, because I really do love this computer and I really do not want to have to buy another one for quite some time.

As for 1), I am very pleased that I don’t have to work tomorrow. Well, hopefully I won’t. I have been oddly out of sorts and really tired all weekend, and kept thinking I need another day off- I think I’m still recovering from The Delaware Experience, and in retrospect I should have taken the day after I got back off too. So yesterday I start thinking, oh, I should just call in sick Monday! Mr. Organized is going to be gone to Seattle Tuesday-Friday so I need to be there, but Monday off would be great! And I didn’t have the foresight to ask off in advance, AGAIN. Then I kept feeling guilty about planning to call in sick when I’m not, and wondering what I’d say I was sick with and thinking how I wanted to sleep in, not get up and call in and go back to bed and then have Baker B’s alarm go off and never really go back to sleep….. Yes. I was kind of overthinking this whole thing. Finally realized that, hellllloooo, I could just email everyone TODAY and say I’d like to take off Monday. So that’s what I did. And I said that if it would interfere with anyone else’s plans just let me know and I’d come in. Mr. Organized emailed me back – he’s actually the only one who has; I think we’re the only two overachievers who check our work email when we’re not working – said fine with him and he’d see me next week since he’s leaving tomorrow for Seattle – then he mentioned he’s felt like he was coming down with something all weekend and REALLY hoped  he wasn’t getting sick right before the trip. Of course I emailed back and said if he needed to take a sick day tomorrow I’d come in — I’m not doing anything in particular, I’m just laaazy!!! He insisted he had a bunch of stuff to do and really needed to be at work, but if he gets worse he’ll call me. Hence the "hopefully" I’m off tomorrow. I’m behaving as if I am, staying up late. Mr. Organized is never EVER sick so I hope he will call if he is. And I hope he is much better so I don’t have to go in and so he doesn’t have to go to grueling meetings in Seattle while sick.

My I certainly can go on and on and on about nothing.

How about some Delaware Pics?

This is a Flying To Charlotte Pic- the clouds were really neat.

What we saw when we got there… not so neat.

But the company was wonderful. And so is Cousin J’s Shiny New Remodeled Kitchen:

It’s very important to decorate your cousins for Halloween. With skeletons:

I did not decorate my cousins, though. Cousin MJ, Cousin E and the Adorable Girls:

There were several birthdays involved.

Slightly Creepy Pumpkin kept watch:

There is a little road running right behind Cousin J’s house that goes through the woods to a state forest. We took a nice long walk Sunday. When it was not snowing. It was still cold, but very clear and pretty.

There was still plenty of ice lying around:

Tyson being adorable as always, and Daddy apparently watching TV:

you need a catchup day! i hope you get your monday off.

You and your cousins have a good strong family resemblance. It’s not so much like that in my family. Yeah, that kitchen is to drool for.

Looks like a great weekend!

Great reflection shot on the pumpkin decoration. Wonderful location and kitchen. How cool to be able to walk (with or without Tyson) into a state forest. It has been a long time since I have been in a plane and above the clouds. Thanks for reminding me what it is like.

I finished Miracle Day yesterday. It got a little better towards the end but the Americans just seem so flat and serious and it puts mote pressure on Jack and Gwen (and Reese) to carry the whole thing. He does mention The Doctor a couple of times. It sounds like it is still completely up in the air if they’ll come back for another season.

And! I do hope you get your day off with your perfectly functioning laptop.
