pictures, pictures

And some whining about having to go back to work tomorrow. And some wondering about what I have DONE for all these days off. Nothing productive, that’s for sure. I’m not even caught up with my reading and noting. I had lots of grand plans, none of which I seem to have accomplished. And it will KILL me to get up tomorrow. I don’t even want to think about it. WAAHHHH!!!!

Well. To shut myself up, here are some pictures from my Weird Solitary Vacation. Oh, as for Baker B’s back, he did something to it at work months ago – he often has to move boxes around, and strained it. He’s been to the doctor, and to physical therapy, and is going to a chiropractor this week. It doesn’t seem to be anything real serious, and considering he’s been on long hikes every day this week, I believe he’ll live. It’s not terrible pain, just more uncomfortable than anything else, I think.

The Battery, with all the spectacular homes that look out over the water towards Ft. Sumpter. Where of course the First Shot of the Civil War was fired. At the spectacular homes.

Rainbow Row, Hotbed of Tourism.  But still very very neat.

One of many really really cool old houses.

Isle of Palms, the crowded touristy beach. Okay, it doens’t look THAT crowded, but it was kind of crowded. Especially compared to Folly Beach. Isle of Palms is where all the big condos and vacation homes are. This was Monday, so was less populated than it is on the weekend.

Folly Beach. See? Not very crowded. I actually did have to move, amusingly, as one of the few other people on  the entire beach came and plopped down near me and then started yakking on her cellphone. It was either move or throw water on her. This is where I moved to. That’s my stuff you can see in the middle. This is my kind of beach!

Still at Folly.

This is my favorite lighthouse in the world. It’s the Morris Island Lighthouse, and it sits out in the water. Well, it doesn’t look like it’s really out in the water here, but it is. It’s long-abandoned and very neat.

And one of the innumerable Cool Old Doorways.

Okay, I have to try and get ready for work tomorrow, since it’s going to be difficult enough without having to hunt something to wear and my shoes and my pack and make lunch all while in a sleep deprived coma. I’ve got Lomos to post, AND a bunch of pictures from this incredibly cool graveyard, which I’d never been to. Amazing. But they will have to wait till tomorrow.

Very nice! I love all these doorways and details. Sorry about the end of this vacation. I wonder if there is a way we could train a flock of gulls to dive bomb anyone talking on a cell phone on the beach??? They could drop a fish on the offender’s head.

I want to go live in the Lighthouse!!!!!!

Oh…how nice these pictures. I have seen the light house before because Oswego lives near and sent me some of his pics of Folly Beach, his favorite place to be! Hope you find a way to be friends with “work” again! Take care,
