Regarding work.

Music: The World – .hack//sign OST 1

I love my job, I really do.

Where else can I stay up all night, surfing the web and doing pattern recognition work which aids our anti-spam efforts while taking phone calls from the brain surgeons we call our customers because they received a mailer-daemon stating that an email, which they received, was delayed 5 hours by our mta. Do they not remember when if you pasted a stamp to a letter it could take four days to arrive? Damn, we have that beat. Show some fscking gratitude already.

Honestly, I’m starting to burn out on this crap I do. It’s not that I don’t love the shift, or the job, it really is that I’m sick of doing the same thing day in and day out, receiving no training on our newest products and being expected to know how they work intuitively. Honestly, some of the customer service work I do here boils down to guesswork. Thankfully, I’m pretty darn good at guessing.

It just would be nice to have the same knowledge as the other shifts when it comes to these systems. Or at least access to it. Like step by step instructions so we don’t fsck something up playing with it. Yeah. That would be nice.

I know. I’m smoking crack.
