Funny………

Funny how I got responses to my last rant from women who’ve had a hard time making a decent living in Canada….

Women who work, and live with men, but still have problems with making their way, and meeting those economic deadlines.

I am angry that my daughter has to move to Norway in order to expedite the acceptance of her man as a Canadian ‘eligible’ ( my God, who would want to be Canadian, eh? What a thankless, and unworthy citizenship………….)

Plus, I can’t drive to Norway unless I go over the polar ice cap.

FLARE….FLAME AND HOSTILITY

Ok, Canadian chicks on this board….if you didn’t have a man paying the way for a year or more, could you have sustained? ….I hear your sad stories of  survival, and I compare it to my daughters current efforts to bring a husband into our country…..she has to pay a large sum, and guarantee him for years and years and years…..

Mail order brides don’t  have it easy…..fat drunken stupid guys who have no redeeming value pick them out of a catalogue…..the fat arses have a job that gives them $20,000 a year…they’ve worked up to that in their 40 or 50 years. Then they live in Timmons. Small women from the Phillipines pay the price for that loneliness and desperation.

My daughter doesn’t need to ‘buy’ a mate…but she loves a man from another country.

He has worked in Canada before……you wouldn’t know how lightning quick a work permit lands in your life if a hockey team wants you! Because hockey skills are important…lol.

But love is nothing. Family is nothing.

Canada sells itself to the highest bidder, and  brokers family status for $1,500 an application.. Then they take a year and a half to determine if the spouse is worthy of ‘Canadianism’….what a fucked up, worthless citizenship…good luck having a life, eh? Then the sponser has to ensure her spouses livelihood for years…I notice none of you women are the sole support for a grown man…not to mention your progeny.

What is wrong with you?

Canadian women…..fighting bears, raising a sled dog teams’ worth of husky children, and exfoliatiing in our spare time. Schooling ourselves, and wearing our hope like some new form of mascara. The new super heroine!

Canadian Chicks!

Acting like this all doesn’t matter. Like we’re all happy.

And we’ll meet on the moral high ground…somewhere in the US or Europe, or Africa (Canadians always hit the road for good jobs..dragging our  stupid and sad beavers and curling stones and maple syrup behind us, and denying our American affiliation. We’re the new gypsies. Or the new slaves)

Peace eh?

I know nothing about Canada.

I doubt I would have been any better off in the States. In fact I have two close friends with similar backgrounds — one in Chicago and one in Oregon, who fared quite similar to me. I would have made different decisions if I wasn’t with Hubby and did not end up with children — I might have been better off on my own, in fact.

I lived in New York for a year, but chose to come back here because of things I did not like down there, and because Canada is my country. Yes, there is a brain drain out of the country, yourself included, but (quite obviously) a lot of people like it here, or there would be nobody left. My friend in Oregon bemoans the fact that she can’t live here.

It is all very complex, and I think there are no definite lines that can be drawn. Sorry it has upset you so much. BTW — I may be pissed off at certain things from time to time, but I am essentially very happy.
