Come all ye fair and tender maidens…..
I’ve been looking around for peace and justice groups online, and found this interesting site. I really appreciate activist groups that use street theatre techniques to get their point across.
This organization, CodePink, looks promising, and can be accessed at

Here is a clip from the website :
"
We need you to tell other women about CODEPINK by telling them about this website. To do so, click here.
Our leaders tell us we that we can easily afford hundreds of billions of dollars for this war. But in the United States of America, many of our elders who have worked hard all their lives now must choose whether to buy their prescription drugs, or food. Our children’s education is eroded. The air they breathe and the water they drink are polluted. Vast numbers of women and children live in poverty.
If we cannot afford health care, quality education and quality of life, how can we afford to squander our resources in attacking a country that is no proven immediate threat to us? We face real threats every day: the illness or ordinary accident that could plunge us into poverty, the violence on our own streets, the corporate corruption that can result in the loss of our jobs, our pensions, and our security. "
I’m already digging my old pink slip out of storage…..
A small group of thoughtful people could change the world.
Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. –Margaret Mead
Yes, it is amazing how many social programs the neocons think we need to cut — and we all know why — they cannot continue their lives of extreme privelege without an underclass to service them.

Assuming you believe terrorists are “of no proven immediate threat”…

Re: terrorists? The last I knew ( and I only know what I hear in the media, because I have no magic pipeline to the truth), the majority of the terrorists who took down the WTC were Saudis, with a smattering of Egyptians. We have not waged war on these ‘allies’. The government has identified Bin Laden and Hussein as major figures…too bad the CIA spent so much time and money on them, eh?

Now we throw good money after bad…because 19 zealots took us unawares? I think back on it all, and I remember the tens of millions of people who displayed the true character of humanity. The ones who helped, the ones whose love and courage were not diminished by fear. We all live in a state of fearful flux here…all over the world. And I worry about the future we’re offering our kids

And how about that concentration camp in Cuba? The one we never talk about?

I think Bush is an illiterate, simple minded puppet, and that the crew pulling his strings are among the ‘evildoers’ he is so fond of mentioning. I try to follow my own conscience in these matters.I’m all for taking the radical step of bringing it back to the UN. I want peace. PS:The ‘Big Dig’ in Boston cost 15 billion. What’s Iraq costing? What’s the benefit? There have been so many lies.

he’s also an arse

The terrorists are a very limited threat that the neocons blew all out of proportion to scare people into allowing their tax dollars to go to the military and to intelligence. RYN: yes, I imagine I will miss them once they leave but it will give me great satisfaction seeing the kids make their own way in the world.
