Poetry: The Shadows

The Shadows
===========================
The setting sun
Draws the blinds
On this day of burning.
To the Shadows,
The coming night
Leaves only the discerning.

Stand up, fair sky,
Above the sea of pines;
Darkness hiding contours
And symbolic, fretful lines.

The dawning day
Awakens the Shadows
Left at dusk yearning.
Their re-birth,
In fertile daylight,
Shows less to the learning.
