Distractions (WWW8) (Cooler Things Edit)

I should go to bed. I should definitely not stay up and listen to the whole iTunes Originals album for Finger Eleven. I shouldn’t even buy it because my paycheck today was less than I expected. I’m not even sure if I want to talk about why with payroll. It was a paid time off accrual error on someone’s part. Most likely mine and a misunderstanding of how it works (though my understanding of it has gotten me this far at least). I kind of don’t want to deal with it because it’s only $60 (gross and $40 net) of a difference. And that way I will avoid looking like an idiot in front of the CFO. It’s bad enough he called me mouthy the other day.

The organic grocery store I went to tonight was pretty awesome. It’s busy on Wednesdays, though, so I’ll have to remember that. I got two pomegranates and some baby pears that will be perfect for bento. I don’t know who first thought that the flesh of a pomegranate was worth all the effort that goes into getting to it, but I wouldn’t have. I only pulled out about 60% of the seeds from the first pomegranate before giving up. I’ll have to try the second one when I’m feeling more up to it. And boy they sure are messy.

This Past Week in a Word: Lonely.

Overall Feeling – Emotional: Angry.

Overall Feeling – Physical: Tired. Today my eyelids were super puffy from crying for hours last night – it honestly felt and look like I’d been punched in the eyes a few times, without the bruises. It was hot.

Reading: The Second Wives Club and Jane Eyre.

Watching: Nothing. Watched a few movies up at Vail last week. I miss Netflix.

Listening: Finger Eleven. My Musicals Mix.

Song Stuck in My Head: Pure Water will melt her! I don’t know which song it is exactly, but it’s on the Wicked soundtrack.

Best Meal: Friday night roast dinner followed by Cherry Pie. Since then… uh, I haven’t really had much of anything that I’d qualify as a meal, really. Tomorrow’s lunch should be pretty good though.

Website of the Week: Elann.com

Projects of the Week: Two socks at a time, as soon as I get my needles. That’s all I’m putting on my plate right now.

Craving of the Week: Nothing. Everything’s been pretty blah.

Not So Cool Things: Today. Feeling like I don’t fit in. Having to go back to work after a few days off.

Cool Things: Spending a few days with my mom and sister and Kendra. Um, that’s about it. Edited to Add: I checked my phone bill this morning with the intention of paying it to get it out of the way and I have a credit! So that’s awesome. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but I’m not going to question it.

New & Improved: I’m totally in a rut, so nothing.

Question of the Week: Is it even worth it?

Big Ideas: No big ideas this week, just plugging along.

I Felt Most Accomplished When I finished my sample pair of two-at-a-time socks.

To Do For Upcoming Week: Laundry.

Looking Forward To: It not being today anymore.

5. SOAP OPERA NAME: (middle name, city where you were born)

Dawn Denver

6. SUPERHERO NAME: (2nd fav color, fav alcoholic drink, add “THE” to the beginning)

The Purple Mojito (Okay, so I don’t have a favorite alcoholic drink so I cheated and chose the one I’ve always wanted to try – it works well, I think.)

7. FLY NAME: (first 2 letters of 1st name, last 2 letters of your last name)

Mird. Totally not fly at all.

8. GANGSTA NAME: ( fav ice cream flavor, fav cookie):

Creme Brulee Spritz.

9. ROCK STAR NAME: (current pet’s name, current street name)

Yes! Thanks for rubbing in the fact that I don’t even have any pets. Awesome. So we’ll go with Fido Boulder. That’s not bad, I guess.

10. PORN NAME: (1st pet, street you grew up on)

Shasta Kenton. Have I done this survey before? That sounds familiar. In either case, Shasta wasn’t actually my first pet, but we’ll pretend because I can’t remember any of the pets we had before that. Oh, wait I think one of our cats before was named Baby. But that’s just cliche.

ryn: it was because he thought it sounded more legitimate, apparently. I was never quite sure of the explanation.

I can’t imagine you being mouthy.~jo

Re: pomegranates, are you using the score-the-fruit-drop-it-in-a-bowl-of-water-and-the-seeds-fall-out method? I can’t remember all of the particulars, but it really works and because the seeds are in water it cuts down on the red juice everywhere phenomenon.

Your Star Wars name is awesome! Love,

I got a txt msg yesterday saying I will be getting a $5 credit on my account every 7 months. I don’t really know why but it’s a promo to get me to use my phone more I think 😛 I use pay as you go.

That’s a long time to go without having a square meal, young lady! *stern look I’m feeling crappy this week as well… maybe it’s the November blues? How shall we all get each other through the November blues? Without having a party on WoW, I mean. 😉
