Crystal blue persuasion

I have no really excellent explanation for why that particular line of a song continues running through my brain.
As do the lyrics to Bob Lind’s song, Elusive Butterfly.

You might wake up some morning
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if you’re quick enough to rise
You’ll catch a fleeting glimpse of someone’s fading shadow
Out on the new horizon
You may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
And if the sleep has left your ears
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow

Don’t be concerned, it will not harm you
It’s only me pursuing something I’m not sure of
Across my dreams with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

You might have heard my footsteps
Echo softly in the distance through the canyons of your mind
I might have even called your name
As I ran searching after something to believe in
You might have seen me running
Through the long-abandoned ruins of the dreams you left behind
If you remember something there
That glided past you followed close by heavy breathing

Don’t be concerned, it will not harm you
It’s only me pursuing something I’m not sure of
Across my dreams with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

I have always liked that song very much; the feel of it, the lilt in it. Its music is as lovely as its words. Mr. Lind wrote that as well. Some lyrics places put in about their being an instrumental, followd by a repeat of the second two lines of the chorus. Just for the sake of accurate reporting.

Lots of work, interesting communication patterns. Thank heavens for the internet, really. I will know more about the shape of my next couple of weeks soon. Tonight I am meeting a friend from a forum site for a bite/cuppa. That should be nice.

Whitters are brewing. Looking through image files is fascinating; brings one back to the sorts of things one was seeking and discovering at other stages of one’s journey.

Elusive Butterfly.. Those are the one who go to other ODers yards and pose for photos while I get Bees and Ants..

Thanks for beginning my morning with that blast from the past and a WAY-cool image! I agree: that’s a timelessly beautiful song. Much aloha,

Bought a CD with “retro” music a few years ago, specifically for Elusive Butterfly – love that song. Ah, the memories of sitting in the pizza shop and listening to Crystal Blue Persuations… the next vibration… When pizza was 15 cents, the soda 10 cents and three songs for a quarter. Those were the days…

Takes me back. Wonderful songs and I like that rainbow butterfly! Have a good evening. Hugs and Love,
