Thursday feels like Friday

Not sure why that is. I am really glad that my kids are off tomorrow. I shall skate out of that place tomorrow morning once I’ve had the required dosage of coffee.

I got an email from my favorite singer! Which, of course, makes me more of a fan than ever. Of course, to see her perform live I might have to travel to the Netherlands, as besides Ireland that seems to be where she performs most often. Then again, I think once a year she also performs on a cruise with her sister and brothers … hmmmmm. Now doesn’t that sound fine?

Ahem. Yes, this not smoking stuff ought to save me large sums of money. However, since really I couldn’t afford cigarettes with any ease three and a half weeks ago, I don’t think I’m quite ready to start booking cruises. Anyway, there’s a very important airplane sort of trip that needs to happen long before any such thing as that!

Day 24, and all in all … with a little help from my friends, coworkers, etc. … it’s going pretty well. There are even periods of time when the fact that I am not smoking isn’t the very topmost thing in my mind. Wow!

Some whittery bits from the last couple of days/nights/whatevers.

Irrelevance

Velvet and pepper
both invisible
easily overlooked

Each word suspended
from its significance
transparent thread

Pendula through which
light and death come true
united and separated

Oak and lace
silk and leather
stained glass and stained soul

Too much said
vacant syllables
insufficient against the void

~~~~~~~~~~
Re: stained glass
Bold black outlines
restrict in containment
translucent colors
symbolizing all
symbolizing nothing
Light in narrow shafts
through high infrequent windows
who designed the first round rose
that played havoc in the cathedral
with sunlight as its instrument
Unbridled fascination
kiss of colored light against my skin
thoughts holy as could ever be
corporal joy blending with the spirit’s songs
while everything true graces the mind
How often have the truly blessed
bewildered the people of good order
once across this planet then
I’ll swirl in breezes
dance in shafts cast through rose patterned wonders
your doing an awesome job on the no smoking thing. I always think that too.. about it saving money.. lol but I could barely afford to buy them in the first place. But it will be nice knowing that 60 bucks a month isn’t going towards a such a bad habit.. one I do manage to pick my quit date. I am looking at Aug 20th for my date. A week after I get back from 16 days home with my family.
Ah I know who the favorite singer is. This is progress and fast not thinking about those lit sticks. You have grit and stamina. Lionesses can be very focused. Have a lovely Easter. Don’t forget to take some pics. Sweet dreams warm hugs
You. Rock.
You just keep whittering and enjoying everything. 24 days is awesome and so are you for doing it! Please do start putting away most of the money saved by not buying cigarettes and even what you don’t put away will be put to better use, too. Hugs and Smiles,
I enjoy reading your poetry. And congrats on continuing to not smoke. I think I may have told you that I quit around the end of August, first of September last year. But lately I had been craving them like crazy again (I know this is because I used to smoke a lot to take my mind of the pain of kidney stones, when I had them). Well, I started smoking again about three weeks ago, then quit again.
You actually sound Upitty!! Good for you…and your far away thoughts. :o)
