What’s it about?
The book will be about a late blooming person. Just this morning I’m not entirely sure whether it will be a sort of memoir or something else. I am leaning toward memoir/autobiography. No, I don’t think most people will give a hoot about it; but I do think it has a place in the world. Here’s the stuff I was writing last night.
What was in your day? Did I forget something? Perhaps today the airwaves were worse than usual.
It seems that almost half the people in this country want an amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America that will ban gay marriage. I really believe that the future of this democracy is in danger. The hope I see is that we have all been taught that we have freedom of speech and the right to pursue happiness. Sure, some have always been more equal than others, but we are loud and accustomed to living in the structure of a democracy.
We will not give up our dignity. And we will fight for our human and civil rights long and hard. But how can so many people not look around them and see how their freedom and privacy are being stolen? However homophobic someone is, can s/he not feel horror at the abuse of this sacred document, this record and foundation of our freedoms, in a stroke that would remove the freedom of American citizens?
Prohibition was repealed. What a waste of our taxes, though, to pass such a ridiculous thing into law, only to wind up having to strike it.
We can’t have almost half the people of this country reelecting Bush. That’s all he needs, after all, to claim he has won; he proved that once already.
We go about our lives with blinders and earplugs in place. We need to avoid thinking that one morning or afternoon we and our city might disappear. Then again, we might find ourselves under the despotic rule of a maniacal marionette.
It happened again, blank space between two continuous parts of writing.
Please don’t leave my
accidental self
blowing in the wind
“under the despotic rule of a maniacal marionette.” Aren’t we there already?? God help us – he is evil and must be destroyed, uh, make that removed. : )

The writing is good idea. A new project and perhaps some new discoveries. You really are very okay. Bush is Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s not as if he was voted in by the majority, all very odd that election.

Akira’s understating it! Very odd… wacko, more like it. We’ve been had! We need to get him and his band of thugs out of there. Gah – they’re destroying our basic freedoms…
Warning Comment
Just thinking about another 4 years of him makes me ill. I was hoping Hilary would run this time. Memoirs are often the most compelling kind of reading, and a lot of people could relate to the idea of late-blooming. =) hugs,

You are my hero. I could not have said it better. Many of us are not running around with blinders on, but many are afraid to speak out. I personally am not. those of us who are not afraid to speak need to keep doing so.

“Please don’t leave my accidental self blowing in the wind..” Love it..

Bush cant disappear soon enough in my opinion.. Hope the voting is decisive enough not to allow him to crawl his way back!

Only the strong survive and yet the meek shall inherit the earth…isn’t it ironic…BT

When I first heard that hundreds were running to California to get married I thought, gee, “they must be attention seekers”, and I thought “why would anyone do that”. THEN I read the details about the first people who went there. These people had been committed to each other and living with each other and had been FAMILY to each other for 15 years, for 28 years, for 45 years. cont’d
Warning Comment
Contd from note 1/ WOW, there are heteros’ who are not as committed to each other as some of these California individuals are. How can anyone deny anyone who has been living with someone for 20 years and committed to someone for that long -how can they deny a marriage license if that’s what the couples want ? I just don’t get it. I think it’s all about saving money for health insurance companies.
Warning Comment
Cont/d Once these marriages are legal and “accepted” , big businessess are going to have to pay out bigtime for “family ” health insurance plans. AND, why shouldn’t they. Why should SOME families be covered with health insurance and other families not? Just a thought . LIke your book, very very cool . Peace from

Outspoken rainn must say this; I like Bush; I might not like EVERYTHING he says, but it’s nice having Clinton OUT and BUSH in. Think I would have stuck my head in the ground if they elected another sexist like Clinton. OOPS>>>Im totally non-political and politically ignorant too; just had to give my opinion on this . peace from

Don’t take the Campbell statement to heart. That’s in the past. It was a way to send out an oblique message to another. But if you want to leave a note defending or whatever do that. Promise I wont sting. Warmest Hugs

Hehe aww thanks. Neele

I’ve changed that to the Campbell Dukes. Your right I don’t suppose the ordinary clanspeople had any say in it. Most were poor like serfs. I don’t think the clan system was so great. Sweet dreams and thanks for noting again. Hugs and Kisses

i love your points of view and how you write 🙂

Politicians with vendettas. Smh. 😛 We go about our lives with blinders and earplugs in place. I think we all do that, most of us just being content to be left alone that we don’t notice changes until it is too late.
Warning Comment
To amend the constitution to take away a person’s freedom would destroy the constitution since its premise is freedom. One can only hope that people will become more educated about homosexuality and less fearful. Hugs,
