Bingo, bopping and thanks

Last night’s outing was lovely; and I won! I gave just over half back to the Center though because they do such grand things for the LGBT folks in this town. The place in Connecticut where Ms. Bruncheon also calls out the numbers (I believe with Fabio’s help) is in East Norwalk; evidently the house is always full (around 250 seats) and they turn away about 100 people; anyway, if you go to http://www.mfap.com/HomeEvent.asp you can see a poster for that monthly event, and it raises money for the Mid Fairfield AIDS Project.
Our little group added another woman and off we went for Chinese food; then I had to get a chocolate cake for the old man as he had laser surgery on his left eye yesterday, and the only thing he wanted in the whole world was chocolate cake. It is sooooooooooooo cold here. However …

N and I left bright and early this morning in 1 degree weather (wind chill: minus 8 … this is in Fahrenheit folks, I can’t seem to remember accurately how to do the Celsius/Fahrenheit formula; I’ll look it up and report back though as the way my life is going it would seem like a good idea for me to learn that) … where was I? Oh yeah … We left and traipsed up to the Lincoln Center neck of the woods for his first SWAT Team Saturday. It was very cool, and I even got to watch Jacques D’Amboise dance! Yeahhhh … before the main event there was a small group of kids whose teacher is friends with him, and they had come to check out the NDI thing … and he taught them a little combination. He moves sooooooooooooooo well … I don’t think dancers can ever retire, their bodies are just amazing machines of grace and beauty. Sighhhh. N had fun although let me tell you, they work HARD!!!

In other news, I had a brief report from one of the folks I’ve asked you to pray for this morning to say there is a definite improvement! Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much; please keep it up as obviously it’s working excellently.

Okay, a whitter from last night after bingo, Chinese food, and chocolate cake delivery. Have a wonderful day/night in your part of the world please.

Scribbling in the very small hours

Always there
what’s to become of us
come of this
a complex situation
a simple truth

Someone discusses behavior
we all have ties that bind
stabilize and chafe
what is it
vastly different
yet I see opposing parts
of a magnificent whole

I have returned to where I live
the hour late and my body exhausted
the night is a cold place
but even as I surrender to dreams
I know a presence who always knows
where to find me

“…I have returned to where I live…” Hmmm… Double meaning there? 🙂 Why do I usually love the last stanza the best? You do endings well; but that’s just a guess. 🙂

i’m glad your friends are feeling better. that’s great news 🙂 i think i should have been a dancer. don’t you? the way i talk about dancing all the time in my diary. lol! chinese food and chocolate cake sounds delicious. and~ i hope you have a delicious saturday. as mr. p would say. he likes to say delicious. *smiles*

mmmm I love chocolate cake! And I do agree with noter above…this is a beautiful whitter but the last part stands out. Until the last three days, our evenings have been in the range of -10 to -12C. Now, I’m not sure what that is in Farenheit. The last few days have been a tropical by comparison at 9C. Stay warm, ME!

It sounds like a wonderful organization!! I don’t know how to do the conversion either…there must be one online somewhere tho right? I’ll have to check it out. You’re right about dancers…beautiful bodies that move with such grace. Glad N had a good time. :o)
