From Behind a Pile of Work

Yes indeed, I’m at the office today. N is with a dear family friend. His fever decided it wasn’t quite done with him yet; when we took his temperature and it was 100.9 (half an hour after it was 98.6; his eyes had gotten that glassy sort of look) we put him in a bathtub and gave him some Motrin. Had him settle down on the futon; took it again after about 45 minutes … 102.6. Finally it started going back down again. He is not feverish today; I expect that the worst really is over, and anyway he gets the whole week off school, to which he is not averse. Tomorrow his dad starts his weekend, so he’ll be all ensconced and happy right at home.

Fragment

Watch what is within as it
swims up into the clear air
moving toward the heart freely given
giving mine for reasons
that grow stronger every day

Now I build my soul
to be all that I am
learning it wrapped in the grace
simple certainty in the real world
through which my pilgrimage wends its way

Good morning fellow pilgrim 🙂 Brr…it’s cold over here. Thanks for the update. Can’t give you a warm hug, I’m almost a block of ice. Will a simple hug be okay?

glad your son is a bit better, or rather on the upwards swing. I really love the way you put your words together so simply to create such a profound…I don’t know what the word is. Idea? Visual? Whatever..I just really love your whitters.

*smiles* somehow you always seem to leave me smiling, even though your heart stirs of concern.

wonderful Fragment – and glad to hear the worst is over! *sends smiles, health, and rubber duckies* hugs,

Sorry your son is sick. Wow, that poem just hit me hard. It’s so moving. Thanks for sharing that.

🙂 *hugs*

“Watch what is within as itswims up into the clear air”gasps, sputters, sighsand says hello to the heart. I dunno. Just came to me. See you inspire poetry even in others. Hugs,

Savanah’s feeling puny again, but it isn’t a cold – it’s mouth sores and tummy aches from the chemo. Drat. She was doing so well. I guess given what she has been through, this is nothing, but I hate to see her hurting. Hope your N is well soon. Lots of crud going around. xo

“Simple certainty” That says so very much.

you are right about human error. perhaps that is what gives the world, if not the universe, its chaos factor. *hugs*
