23 and 17

“Because we all share this planet earth, we have to learn to live in harmony and peace with each other and with nature. That is not just a dream, but a necessity. We are dependent on each other in so many ways that we can no longer live in isolated communities and ignore what is happening outside those communities.”
~His Holiness the Dalai Lama

The title today involves the emotional ages of my husband and me. Some people think he’s 52 and I’m 44. Silly people; that’s just what those funny birth certificate thingies say. We have only been consciously alive for the numbers of years in the title, he a bit longer than me. I wrote about it last night. See:

Here’s an odd idea:
honesty.
Another one:
openmindedness.
Still another:
willingness.

How.
How I live my life.
Attributes not beyond the grasp of a fool such as me.

So when I came back to life and reflected and realized that on a certain continuum I had a marked preference for women, and several puzzle pieces began to fall into place, I told my husband.
When a life changing visit solved more of the puzzle, we told our children.
We don’t have enough space in our apartment for an elephant to reside in the middle of our lives.
We don’t drink. We don’t abuse drugs.
We communicate.
It works wonders.

Amen to that! RYN: I have an appointment, not with my regular doctor cutie (he’s booked up.) but with another doctor at the same facility–and hopefully he can help me–because if he doesn’t, he’ll find out that I bite. 🙂

“We communicate. It works wonders.” Indeed! You be proud of yourself M.E. Sometimes I feel 17 and sometimes I feel like I’m 71! I never feel my own age – I don’t even know what that’s supposed to feel like. Hugs,

It surely does work wonders! : ) Great entry! I often feel more like my other age too … and not real sure I act even that mature! Seems I was more mature the first time I was 18, LOL Still hope to learn though, as B. and I use that same HOW and both communicate too. Hugs : )

You are both very brave and very wise – quite a wonderous combination!

Communication – the elusive ideal (in my life anyway).

You’re no fool.

September 12, 2003

Doh. I just reread that sentence. 😛 😡 *feels like an idiot*

Congratulations, you just took a giant leap for humankind *smiles* Much better than being on the moon. Ahem, pleeze return my fangs ASAP. I’m becoming dehydrated not to mention hybernated. And its dark over here. Time to fly. Lots of hugs 😉

It takes a lot of courage to face the truth about ourselves, even when there is nothing wrong with that truth but what orthodox society believes of it. It takes even greater courage to expose our tender underbellies to the world. You are so admired. ~Hugs~

Wise words.. Life is too short to stay unhappily silent.. Usually if we manage to communicate what we want somehow it happens to manifest.. No elephants?? What about room to swing a cat?? LOL!

September 12, 2003

You don’t drink but you use drugs recreationally… that is acceptable. Communication… very wonderful, that of course has to begin within. Much respect. You 2 are lucky to have each other. Much respect.

September 13, 2003

I was kidding my dear. you cute little tootsie roll. Much respect

September 13, 2003

You are more mature than the ages on your title, ME. Sometimes the life we settle for is not so bad, even with its imperfections.

Emotional age is the important one. I think I’ll still feel 20 when I’m 88. 🙂 Now, if only I could still do somersaults. LOL! Hugs,

September 14, 2003
