Oh well

Another night of practically no sleep. Actually, I think it might be something to do with my medication (lavender smiley faced antidepressant). I don’t want to do the warm milk and honey routine I did in early sobriety, but maybe I’ll have to soon.

My daughter will be off to school soon; it’s about an hour earlier than she needs to go, but she is helping a younger girl just starting to attend the other school that is in the same building, who comes from this neck of the woods, get used to the trip. They are becoming very good friends; yesterday evening, when I got home from my meeting, I was informed that they had performed the time honored ritual of becoming blood sisters. Now, M leaves an hour early; and I waits for about 45 minutes at the other end of the day so they can come back down here together; and then, and this is a first, they … do homework together! Yep, they actually do their homework together before they go on to hanging out, and doing things like blood rituals.

Have a good day everyone.

It’s nice to read about how young people make frieds with one another and how it happens so quickly. I remember how that was…I also remember that the people I was so close to at that age weren’t a part of my life 10 years later. -Casey

this is great for both kids. one helps the other, but they will both depend on each other, hopefully a lifetime friendship comes out of it.

How sweet of your daughter! Your antidepressant keeps you awake? That’s the first time I’ve heard of that….they usually make folks drowsy. Try some Sleep Tight Tea! Hugs ~

sometimes having to teach someone is the best way to learn ourselves, we cannot find ourselves alone 😉 *hugs* – Colette

Insomnia is exhausting. Poor you. I always thought lavender was a stimulant? Perhaps it is for some people. I’m not into aromatherapy even though I like nice odors. Soothing music, tapes with a droning soothing voice often do the trick. Warm milk and honey too. Do you have cold feet in bed, that keeps people awake. Jeesh I’m turning into an insomnia consultant…LOL…Hugs sweet lady

Blood rituals? Ya Ya!!!

September 10, 2003

Guess I shouldn’t tell you how well I’ve been sleeping lately 🙂 The kids sound great..did you ever see the musical, “Blood Brothers”?

If that time honored ritual is the same ritual I did as a kid, I’d advise against it. Too risky nowadays. Seems like we should develop a symbolic ritual that would take the place of actual exchanging of blood. I haven’t slept well in a long time. It is exhausting. Hope you get a good night’s sleep soon. ~Hugs~

Finding a best friend has to be one of the best experiences in life. I was 50 yrs old when I started my diary and have made several new best friends. 🙂

Your going to fall asleep for days from sheer exhaustion. Its those night time Vampire escapades! You could be a vampomaniac…LOL….Just teasing. What’s on your mind, you can trust me to keep the secret. Okay I’m being nosey. Hormonal maybe, insomnia is a symptom of the MPause. I’d take you into a trance but I’m too far away. Big warm hug

I didn’t even know people still do the blood thing.. hehehe too cute

Ahem…Mental Pause. I’m a coward. Had to get myself out of that one. Anyhow, your too young for the other one. Listen to Akira…insomniac consultant! ROTFL.

It is the simple things like sharing homework that really stand out some days.
