Last night’s whitter toward sleep

The deep blue has fallen
the ocean and its shores lie
sleeping below the cover of the night sky

Tell me the magic of the stars
as they surround the mountains
sing me a song of always
and where the clouds are going
as they swim by
like dolphins in the sea

Graced by the greatness
the pageant of all gone before
small in the face of creation
night embraces myriad destinies
cradles our sweet and mad dreams
whispers through the wind
what our busy minds forgot our souls know
