The bargain at the Roseway / EDIT: For a Trekkie
We loved going to movies together, and Gwen had wanted to see The Dark Knight Rises.
So I took my dead girlfriend out to the movies. It only cost half as much.
I sat next to her, I knew when she (might have) chuckled, I checked her reaction to each preview (do you want to go see that?), and at the end of the movie she squeezed my hand (I squeezed her hand) ((I squeezed my hand)).

EDIT/ADDED LATE: This is a post I put on her Caringbridge site a few days ago, to tell about something that seemed just right. (I’m sorry that I never linked her Caringbridge site on OD until now; there was so little time to think of everything.)
Hi, this is Alex. I just wanted to say something… Joel at Rose City Cemetery and Funeral Home, who has been great, had said that he could put up an online guestbook for Gwen. I thought that sounded nice, and emailed him a picture and the newspaper obituary and my eulogy. He did a marvelous mashup of the obit and the eulogy; he liked that he had a lot of information about Gwen to work with. And there’s one thing…
In my eulogy I mentioned that Gwen was a Trekkie. Joel read that, and he noticed that an image was available in the obituary program he was using…
… and that’s why the background of Gwendolyn Swanson’s obituary/guestbook at the Rose City website is the symbol of the United Federation of Planets.
I’m at my mom’s plant sale now, but, as soon as I can walk over to her grave, I get to tell her that.
And here’s the Rose City guestbook in question. Leave little blue stones in note form. :o)

More about that later, and about everything soon. I have to run to the doctor’s for a shot, there’s giving plasma, I need to sniff again at my stupid online class, and so on.
But at least these now.
i send you my lion heart.
