Closing thoughts, opening thoughts
I spent the time leading up to midnight on New Years’ Eve watching the 1964 film Fail-Safe.
Reality is in crucial part imagination. The world does end and begin anew at midnight at New Years’. It really does.
Let’s see what happens this time.
Happy New reality. *smile* RYNs: I started smiling at your first one, as I reaalised what you were implying. I could imagine my mother coming back from the grave in total horror if I tried cannabis! *BIG grin* I’ve been chuckling at your idea ever since. But it doesn’t fit my image, you know. More to the point, it doesn’t fit my aim, which is to cut down on expenditure of something I don’t need. Cannabis would actually increase my costs. I’d drifted into buying small bottles at between $3 and $5 each, so the expenditure each time wasn’t great. (Neither is the quality, but it’s ok.) However, adding in the much more respectable bottles I’ve taken with me to friends when eating there/provided here for occasional entertaining, my total expenditure on alcohol this last year is just over $450 Aust. (Just a tad more I think, in $US.) That money could be spent in better ways, as I said in my entry. e.g. 18 cataract operations funded at $25 per operation. Besides, I don’t really need any chemical relaxant. Music, a bath, a word game on my computer: each of these will equally unwind me, I think, for free. But I do love the idea of becoming a geriatric “druggie”. *grin*

RYNs: I’m grinning again, this time at the thought of turning circles on my lawn. Will chasing the cats do, instead? That’s usually a very good way to get me laughing, without the risk of ending prone on the grass with possibly a broken bone or two. You’re right about the computer game. *smile* I don’t think my manual dexterity (i.e. lack of same) would allow me to feel anything but frustration with those sorts of games of skill.
