Disappointment

So we’re NOT going to Japan. The retention guy doesn’t know how to do his job and never put in the paperwork to hold the position in Japan, so Alan lost it. After some discussion and frustration, he re-enlisted for Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. Hopefully when his time there is up, he’ll be able to jump on a better opportunity.

The reason he didn’t jump on Japan and asked the guy to hold it instead of just signing the paperwork was because his coworkers managed to convince him that he needed to ask me first because I wouldn’t want to go. However, Alan knows me better than they do, so next time he’ll just pounce, secure in the knowledge that I’m in this for the adventure, as scary as it may be sometimes. He already knows that I would prefer Europe to Asia but Asia would be perfectly fine compared to pretty much anywhere in the states. LOL

So I’m disappointed about that, but Alan’s in this for the long haul, so I hope there will be other chances down the road.

I’m not disappointed about the outcome of the election, though. I was plenty nervous about it for a while there. Watching that red spread across the map was really scary. Thank god for California. I don’t know if I could have handled a Romney victory on top of losing Japan along with Pippa’s weird little psycho personality change lately. She’s been such a mess.

Anyway, tomorrow I plan on doing NOTHING. We will stay home, we will watch TV and movies, and I will eat popcorn. And on Sunday we’ll go to Charlee’s Pampered Chef party and enjoy food and kitchen gadgets. I enjoy kitchen gadgets.

Toodles for now

That’s too bad about Japan, but I’m sure they’ll be more opportunities for fun adventure in non-USA places 🙂

That’s too bad about Japan, hopefully he’ll get sent somewhere neat overseas after Washington. I think Washington would be a neat place to live, minus the crappy weather.
