Adventurous Weather

I hate weather in this stupid state. Sometimes before you can even say "Hey, it’s raining," the rain has stopped and it’s like it never happened. Other times it just stays and stays.

Like now.

It’s fucking hailing. Only once in my life in Connecticut did I ever experience hail. Here it’s common enough that they set up chip repair tents in parking lots to fix the damage it causes. And it’s loud! It’s like living inside a piggy bank that someone is shaking. It’s times like this I wished we lived on the ground floor. Hearing it bounce off the roof is… unnerving. I’m really hoping it didn’t damage our windshield, but I’m not exactly keen to go out and check, ya know?

It lasted about 25 minutes and had me running around the house trying to mop up the water that’s splashing into the windows. It seems to have mostly calmed down into rain, but watching the hailstones bounce off the roofs across the street was really weird. Some of them were about the size of quarters.

Anyway, I’ve got nothing to say really. I’ve been exhausted lately, even falling asleep on the couch while reading or watching TV, which is something I NEVER do. I’ve also been possessed by strange bouts of reorganization. I rearranged the laundry closet two days ago and today I reorganized the kitchen cupboards. In between naps, of course.

“It’s like living inside a piggy bank that someone is shaking” that’s a great line.
