Have S’more
Our fridge is packed with the remnants of the my attempt to detox. I’m very glad I stopped it and I feel a lot better, but there is a lot of food to finish off at the moment.
Alan and I had a very nice long weekend together. On Friday we went to the gym on post together. It was frickin’ AWESOME. I’d forgotten how nice it is to be in a real gym with real, well-maintained equipment and lots of other people who are there for the same reason. And there are four gyms on post, too, so there are lots of options. Once Alan is done with the class he’s in right now, I’m going to see if we can find a way that I can go to the gym on post during the week instead of using the fitness center here. It might involve me getting up at 4:30 with Alan and going while he’s doing PT. He says I’ll have to wait for equipment if I go during PT, but with four gyms to choose from, I can also try different gyms to find one that’s a bit quieter. Having the car during the day would also enable me to work somewhere other than the immediate neighborhood. We’ll figure it out somehow. Alan’s going into the field in a couple weeks so I’ll have the car then and won’t have to get up so early to go to the gym.
We also bought a crock pot so that if I end up in a situation where I’m picking Alan up at the end of the day, I can start dinner in the morning and have it be ready, since Alan is ALWAYS hungry when he gets home from work. So on Saturday I made pot roast in the slow cooker and Charlee and Kelby came over for dinner. They’re a fun couple. Tonight Charlee and I are taking going to a Zumba class on post. I’m excited because I never got to do Zumba when they had it at Bright Horizons. It was on Tuesdays at 5:30 and I didn’t get out until 5:45, if I was lucky. So this should be pretty entertaining.
On Sunday we made s’mores, which I’ve been dying to do since the summer. One day while I was at Target I found telescoping marshmallow toasting forks in the dollar spot and I’ve just kept them in a drawer waiting to use them. So I made Alan go get s’mores ingredients while I started a fire. Something weird happened though, like maybe the flue only opened part of the way because it got very smokey. I had to maneuver the poker to close it and then to open it again. This side of the house was full of smoke and I had to pull one of the fans out of the closet and set it in the open sliding door to get some of it out. Craziness.
Today I’m just taking it easy. I’m feeling a little… off… I guess, so I’m nibbling crackers and sipping soda and watching TV.

I love our crock pot. We actually got two for our wedding and decided to keep both. They really come in handy 🙂

I hope Zumba is fun! I’ve heard so many great things about it! I don’t think I have quite the stamina to try that out quite yet. 😉 Lol. And yah for smores, but boo for fireplace being a brat! 😉 And I hope you CAN find a gym that you really like and that’s quieter and not quite as busy. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 P.S.- I’m going to start noting you from this diary, as I can leave longer notes! 😉
