Did You Hear That Murmur??
I decided that I don’t want to get on the Gazelle this morning. My sister’s birthday is next week and I wanted to make her a card. I did that only to discover that I need a new ink cartridge or a refill kit. If I can find a good refill kit I will use it but some of them just suck. So I will be on a mission tonight after work if the weather is decent.
I set up an appointment for my girls to get checked & I want them on birth control. Alexa is all for it because she was told that it helps the complexion. Nadine, of course, she is the one that is going to buck the system ~ but she does take them. So now it is time to refill. Neither one of them will tell me what happened at this appointment. I believe that I could sit down and ask Alexa and she will tell me. I just did not do it last night. At said appointment the NP said she found that Alexa has a heart murmur.
If anyone is going to have anything out of the ordinary it is going to be Alexa. When she was about 2 she started wetting her pants. I suspected a bladder infections so I took her in. The gal that I took her to was not a doctor but more than a NP. She freaked and had me freaked. “This baby has a gross amount of blood in her urine. You need to get her to your doctor immediately…blah blah blah blah. So that is what I did. I took her immediately to my regular doctor. “She has a slight bladder infection but it is normal for girls of all ages to have some blood in their urine. “ He prescribed her an antibiotic and we were on our way home. Needless to say I never took any of my children to that freak again.
When Alexa was about 7, during a physical for basketball, I was told that she has one leg shorter than the other. She needs to see a physical therapist. Okay so I take her in. They have her bending and doing all sorts of things. Just watching her made me hurt. It did not phase her at all. Little pretzel! Nope! Her legs are fine!
When she was in 8th grade they check for Scoliosis. Oh, she has a curve in her spine. She needs to see a doctor. I take her in! Nope nothing out of the ordinary. It is normal for a girl her age to have a slight curve and she is within that range. If it gets any worse it needs to be looked at again.
And now a freaking heart murmur. Who wants to lay odds that there is nothing wrong with her and the NP is hearing the cold that Alexa has? You would think that someone would have heard it before now for all the times that I have had her to the doctor. I have taken her in more times that the others all together. She has an appointment for tomorrow morning. I will let you know the outcome.
A lot of women and girls get diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolaps when they are between the ages of 15 and 30. It’s a minor heart murmur. I have it. Women who have it lead normal lives. We just take an extra antibiotic when we have our teeth cleaned and any time we may need surgery. No biggie. If it’s anything at all, I bet it’s that. ~Random

Wow. That sounds like me. Every time I go to the doctor or dentist I find something new wrong with me. Well hopefully it’s nothing and if it is at least it was caught now. 🙂
