No Cash
Did you notice in my last entry I said that I intended on cashing that check. Well cashing that check was not in the cards for me! I had that paycheck and a money order from my sister D.
Let’s do some math. Take the incident that just happened at home, add the incident that happened with the checking account last summer, now add “I can’t cash this for you. You don’t have an account here.” The sum is one explosive Lucy!
I have worked in customer service for so long that I am usually very nice to others who also work in customer service ~ such as bank tellers. I was not nice at all last night.
When she told me that Dick is the only one that can authorize me to use the account I told her that this was supposed to have been taken care of last summer when he cashed a check and the writer stopped payment and they yanked the money out of the checking account without notifying us. She apologized again.
I told her that I have been writing checks out of this account since 1989. I have been depositing my paychecks into this account since 1996. She was still talking when I drove out of the drive-thru. Nadine said “Mom she was still talking to you.”
This type of crap was taken care of last summer. They did find the signature card that they said they could not find. This is a branch bank out of Walhalla. It’s funny because I have had access to Dick’s accounts for so many years. Even before he actually “authorized” use in their eyes. I could go take money out of savings any time with no questions asked.
The one thing that really pisses me off is that she did not even offer to cash the check and charge me a fee. She just said that she can’t cash them. What is this world coming to ~ a person that has no account of any kind can not get cash??? That is what it all boils down to.
When she offered to call Walhalla “tomorrow” I told her just send them back out I will take them over to Community where I don’t have an account and I will cash them!!
Rather than driving across town to Community and having the convenience of having cash I stopped and wrote out a deposit slip and deposited the check and the money order. Did they ask any questions then? Hell no! I called Dick and he even said that it had been taken care of last summer.
The reason that I had a money order from my sister is because she called me and asked if I could wire her some money. So I wired her money without expecting that she would pay it back. I got a shock.
Okay I better get back to sleep!
I am going to dinner with two girls that I went to college with. Remind me!
I hope you had a nice dinner!
