My Sister ~ bless her heart ~ let me sleep in while she was up and baking the cake and cupcakes for Dad’s birthday party. She woke me up and I went tearing around town. My first stop was at Self-Serve to get my damn coffee. Sister has a four cup pot. That is not nearly enough for me. I grabbed the biggest cup they had! Lifesaver!

I had to pick up the balloons that she ordered for Dad so while I was there I bought her a candle in her favorite scent. Plus I bought a decoration for it ~ a necklace for a candle? That is basically what it is. A little chain that goes around the neck of the candle.  


I had to go to the grocery store.

I was cooking the sloppy joes when they should have been done already.

I messed up the surprise by standing on the deck having a smoke when Connie pulled into the driveway with Dad. He did not know that we had planned a party for him. He just thought that since we took him out for lunch Friday that his birthday was over.

My niece and her hubby and their son (2 year old) were there. It was nice for Dad.

Sunday we drove home. I did the driving so that we could make a mile. If I got a speeding ticket it would not be as bad as Nadine getting one. She does not even have her license yet!


I had the best vacation last weekend! I did not have to do laundry ~ usually I end up doing laundry at Mom’s because they have so much piled up. I end up doing the dishes after every meal. I have said it before while I am doing breakfast dishes they are thinking of what to have for lunch. While I am doing lunch dishes they are thinking of what to have for supper. Being there was more work than a vacation.
 

I told my kids that I quit my job. I was told more than once that the truth would hurt their feelings. So as far as they know I quit.
