Forty and A Day

Here I am 40 and a day. It really feels no different than being any other age. I have more aches and pains than I did when I was 20 and I had way more energy back then but it really feels no different.

I worked on my birthday just so that I could be around people that care about me. If Dick had not been around I would have gladly stayed home with the children.

“My kids” at work made my day! They brought cake ~ one ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and one cheesecake! Mmmm… Who could ask for better cakes? They all pitched in and bought me a pendant with a Blackjack ~ jack and ace of spades ~ on a really nice chain. One of “my kids” has a real job in a jewelry store. She must have picked the chain because it is just like one she has that I was looking at.

I was talking to her about chains because I want to replace a chain that I broke. Actually I already broke a replacement chain so I need another chain.

I feel so warm and fuzzy inside!

Here is a funny! My brother L called me last night. When I saw his number on the Caller ID I thought “my brother remembered my birthday” and I was really excited about it! He called to tell me that he finally got a hold of some guy that he has been trying to get a hold of ~ about Cory. He did not call to wish me a happy birthday at all! Brothers ~ I tell ya!

Alexa left me a note ~ which is so sweet!

A friend from college has sent me a card every year for the past 15 years.
I am not complaining about what I didn’t get I am “bragging” about what I did get. I had a wonderful birthday!
