Christmas Day

I stayed up way late because at 2 AM I decided that Christmas could not go by without a cheese spread. I took the cream cheese out of the fridge to soften at that time then started chopping the onion and green pepper and draining the pineapple. Foolish to start at 2 AM! It was well after 4 AM before it was done.

I was still sleeping when the kids got up but Alexa told me that Tyler was so excited when he saw the snowboard under the tree that he jumped up and down. Even though we open gifts on Christmas Eve Santa Claus still comes that night! He has to fill the stockings and usually leaves a gift under the tree.

This year Santa left a Portable DVD player under the tree with a movie. A PS2 game ~ I can not believe that he would leave a game with so much swearing in it. (*I guess that I need to look at the games better before I buy them!*) Santa shopped at Bath and Body Works ~ Tyler got Rootbeer scented shampoo and body wash. It actually smells like Rootbeer! Alexa got Black Raspberry Vanilla body spray and body cream. Nadine got Warm Vanilla Sugar body cream and shower gel.

Everyone has a reserved seat for WWE RAW for January 15. Derek got two floor seats and a game for his X-box. (He did get his gifts Christmas Eve. I also sent the stocking stuffers for both Derek and E with them when they left Christmas Eve.)

I did not make a huge meal for Christmas dinner. We had Pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans, cottage cheese, and whipped Jell-o for supper. I had decided that I was not cooking a turkey or ham but I asked Dick what he would like to have and he chose pork chops. Good decision because it had been a long time since we had pork chops.

Dick actually complimented the beans and wanted to know what I did to them. Of course I would not tell him what I did. I just joked “oh you like the taste of arsenic do you?” Then later he said “hey come here ~ like he had something to tell me that he did not want the kids to hear. So I “went there.” He gave me a hug and thanked me for the great supper.

I know that it is Christmas and all but I did not want him hugging me! TOO LATE! It is too late for him to start complimenting my cooking. It is too late for him to start showing me any affection! It is too late for him to work on a relationship with me. IT IS OVER! It has been over for too long!

I also got a magnet from Alexa ~ Princess! She thinks that I am a Princess. Dick got one that says Tuff Guy. I also got two books ~ one of which I have already read but they say it is returnable. I will just exchange it for a different book.

Dick went hunting with a friend but he got home just in time for supper and he was very lucky that he did make it home on time. Then after supper he went to the neighbors to play cards. He took the Jell-o shots that I made with him. I used Tropical Pineapple Jell-o and Malibu Rum. They tasted good but they were way too strong for me!

Last year I would have been fit to be tied that he would even think about going hunting or going to the neighbors on Christmas. This year I was glad to see him go. Out of my hair!

The kids and I had Ice Cream treats and Hot Cocoa. I bought a can of shaved chocolate that was imported from France. It is wonderful stuff! To make the hot cocoa I used half milk and half whipping cream then we topped it with Redi-whip. Mmmm ~ it is so yummy and relaxing. Tyler did not drink his so I did ~ two cups of nice warm cocoa and I was ready to sleep. I was sleeping quite early (for me) and that is why I was awake at 6 AM.
