To Gunk or Not to Gunk

Yikes it has been so long since I have written here that I think that I have lost the urge! I always think that I need to recap the days that I missed. Well I have about eight days that I did not write. How can I possibly write about eight days? I will try!

Halloween ~ the weather cooperated for Halloween. The kids were able to go Trick-or-Treating without having to bundle up in winter outer-ware. In the Frozen Tundra that is always a bonus.

I asked Nadine if she thought that she was too old to go trick-or-treating. “Oh, no! I will never be too old. I will be trick-or-treating when I am 22.” Okay then!

Tyler dressed in black and wore his Scream mask. The Scream mask that he has had since the beginning of time and just had to have. Yet he would not wear it. He has started out with it but the mask would be left abandoned in the back seat of the car shortly after the begging began. This year he wore that mask from the first house to the last that they visited.

Alexa wore a witch hat and a black gown and black boots. But of course she could not wear the make up to make her ugly. She had to be the cute witch. That was fine because I did not have to apply any gunk then try to remove the gunk from her face.

Nadine decided to be a dead rabbit. We smeared her face with red and black. She wore the bunny ears we also smeared them to Alexa’s disapproval (“I have had those since I was in second grade.”) Nadine wore a white t-short with a heart on the front so we gunked that up with the red and black and drew a tire track down her back.

We went with Goat Woman and her children. When we met up last year the kids really had a good time. This year we all went together. Next year we can each drive! The kids can go together and I had a good time visiting with her but she is just not up for as much fun as I am. Fun for the kids! She thought that they should be done after about an hour. Then we wanted to eat. My idea ~ feed the kids and let them go back out. Her idea ~ feed the kids and go home! We compromised ~ we let the kids trick-or-treat for a bit longer then we went to eat. After supper we were on our way home.

I don’t think that supper sat quite right with me because I ended up with a bellyache and I hadn’t even touched a single piece loot! When we got home I went to the couch and stayed there. I was sleeping before the kids were even done checking out all their loot.
