4-H T-shirt Making Event
Sunday we had the 4-H T-Shirt making event here at my house. I got everyone to pitch in and help get the rest of their stuff put away. When they saw their pool table piled high with stuff they asked where it all came from. I told them that it was the crap that I had asked them to pick up and take to their rooms. Nadine said I thought that I took all my stuff to my room. She is such a dingbat! So the house was in company condition when everyone arrived.
This event took way more time than I expected it to. Had I known that it would run until suppertime I could have made supper for everyone.
It was fun and the t-shirts are adorable. We used the one design that I did get put together. Everyone liked it so I did not have to try to get another one designed. We just decided to edit the one a little bit. Then each of the kids picked their number, I printed them out as in the transfer format (so that they would print backward), GW penciled the numbers onto sandpaper, and the kids colored them any way that they wanted to. Then I had my Print Shop open and each kid took their turn in designing their name to be put on the back of their t-shirt. They got to choose the font, color, outline, shadow ~ anything that they wanted to do. As they were designing their name GW was ironing on the transfers and the numbers that the kids colored onto the sandpaper.
We had a few mistakes and had to re-do a couple of them but all in all it turned out to be a fun day for them. The biggest mistake of all I am going to repair today. When GW ironed on her daughters number she ironed it on upside down. So we just got to work and started over. I printed the wrong transfer ~ I printed the original rather than the edited version. Damn it! Of course I am the one that noticed it. I am the one that printed it! I feel horrible! It wouldnt be so bad if but she is the only one with that transfer. I still have her sandpaper ~ I can re-color it. I have the transfer printed ~ the right one. After banking I am stopping at Wal*Mart to get a white t-shirt and the color crayons that they used ~ cheap ones. She did not use a normal pink. It is a really girly-girl pink and her name transfer matches perfectly. So I am doing this for L. Then I am taking it to work to give to GW so she can exchange them. Maybe L has not even noticed yet.
It was a fun event! These kids are so creative!
Since it was past suppertime and I had nothing cooked we hopped in the car and went to town. Of course Dick left when everyone showed up (he is so anti-social) so I called him and he met us for supper. To say the least I was not impressed with the place that he chose. I am getting better about eating things that does not taste good to me. I ordered a burrito and it was gross. Dicks friend came with him and he also ordered a burrito so I asked him if it tasted right. He was sure that it did so I ate most of mine even though I did not like it. I was hungry but the chips and sauce were not filling me up.
Everyone went to bed when we got home. Including myself ~ I was sleeping before 11 PM which is way early for me. Maybe I do need a different job so that I can live, eat, and sleep like normal people.
Now I must get ready to go banking. I want to go earlier than I normally do so I can get done and go out to Wal*Mart. I would like to have the t-shirt made before the kids get home from school.
I will let you know how it turns out!
