Friday

If you’d like to read about he Dru Sjodin case this is the link to the articles in the local newspaper

I did the banking and some grocery shopping. Then I came home and baked some cookies for the meeting on Saturday. I can not have a staff meeting and not have something for them to munch on.

I was really multi-taking Friday afternoon. I was trying to cook meatball and mashed potatoes cooked for supper, vacuum, dust, and get reference checks done on potential new employees. That is way much for me! I decided to use a few extra hours at home to continue multi-tasking so I called in and told them that I would be in at 7 o’clock.

Who forgot about the Martina McBride/Alan Jackson concert? Pick me, I forgot all about it. So what does that have to do with me since I have to work? The path that I follow to get to work is also followed by all the concert-goers.

I know what it is like to be on the way to a concert. You are all pumped up ready to roll and traffic has you stalled. That is just one way to piss off a person. One must remember that we do not have traffic jams in the Frozen Tundra like you have in the big cities.

Some guy in a big pick-up (at a yield sign mind you) pulled out beside me (in the same lane that I was in.) I am screaming “hey hey” like he is going to hear me! Until I honked my horn, loud and long. He waved to me! Oh I wanted to rear-end him! But I am the one that would have ended up with the damage. I would have driven right under his back end. So I decided against road rage. Hehehe!

I finally got tired of just sitting waiting for the one lane to move so I pulled into the left hand turning lane even though I was not turning left and I drove to the open left hand lane since everyone else was trying to turn right. I have been in the waiting for concert traffic before. I was not waiting for another 45 minutes like I did last time. What would I tell the police when they stopped me? “Everyone else was doing it too.”

That would fly like a lead balloon! As it was I was only 15 minutes past the time I should have been there.

All night I was excited because I knew that my sister and her hubby were in town for the concert. She invited me to go with them but I declined because of staffing at work. She told me that they would stop in after the concert so I told everyone “my sister is coming to see me.” The reply “Your HOT sister?” Yes, my hot sister! So all the boys stayed in a fairly decent mood with the thought of having some eye candy in their future.

As it turned out they never came in to visit me! 🙁

About two weeks ago I put up a sign that read “There will be a MANDATORY MEETING at the office at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 21, 2004.
