Shopped But I Did Not Drop

If you’d like to read about he Dru Sjodin case this is the link to the articles in the local newspaper

Saturday night at work was not fun nor was it a bad night. We were steady but not too busy ~ which is a good thing since I had three of the newer guys working with me. Right after bingo I told them to keep in a rotation because I am the cashier and I am not in the rotation. They did a very good job! LF still gets on my nerves but he is growing on me. BM was in a down mood so he was pretty quiet all night. PM talked to me a little bit. It just seemed like a peaceful night.

Today I was going to get up and go shopping early in the day. That did not happen thanks to supper last night. I have to put one more place on the “not to eat” list. Let’s just say I spent way more time on the toilet than normal. So that delayed the trip to town. While waiting to be sure I was done I fell asleep! That threw the real wrench into my plan!

I didn’t leave home until about 7:00 PM. It was probably not as busy then as it would have been during the day but I was still irritated! I hate going down an aisle when someone else is in that aisle! Impossible this time of the year, I know, but rude people irritate me. I think that I am done buying for the kids! I certainly hope that I am buying for the kids! Yikes!

I bought a 20-inch television for them to go with the Playstation2 that I ordered. I bought another game ~ one that I think that Dick will enjoy. I also bought a couple DVD’s that were requested. I am sure that they have already watched Finding Nemo but I got it anyway ~ they wanted it. They have also watched The Lizzy McGuire Movie but wanted that one too.

I spent way more than I planned on spending. Dick and I discussed not buying gifts for each other and it was agreed that we wouldn’t. He took the kids shopping to buy gifts for me. Now I feel obligated to get him gifts from the kids. The reason I did not want us to exchange gifts is because we spent so much on the kids although they were good buys it is still costly.

For Derek I bought a queen/king sized Vellux blanket and a Playstation2 game that he wanted. He wanted a newly released game so I did not get by cheaply for that one. So that is all he is getting other than stocking stuffers ~ and who knows what that might be.

I have not decided on stocking stuffers yet! Any ideas? Remember Derek is almost 12, yeah I wish 17. That was a typo that I decided to just strike rather than correct. He was still expensive at 12!

I did not use a credit card! I wrote checks then came home and transferred money from saving to the checking account. Money that we had put away for Christmas shopping! Woo hoo!

I wanted to be in sleeping by now so I best get moving! Of course I have banking and an audit to do in the morning but I don’t have the open shift. Hooray for me!

Later!

Kids are expensive at any age and as they age the cost of their toys increases. 🙂 – – – –
