Of All the Stupid Things I Do

Although it is past my bedtime I am posting what a I wrote earlier today.

As I write I am downloading Earthlink TotalAccess 2004. I think that I did try the TotalAccess thing once before and it really messed up my computer. So why am I doing it again? That is a damn good question! I also think that what I downloaded before was new and yet to be tested or something. If I am not around for a few days you will know why!

I had a very uneventful day! I stayed up way too late! I was awake but not letting the kids know because if they know that I am awake they fight. I listen until I think someone needs help.

The phone rings, I look at the clock it is 7:07. Who is calling this early in the morning? It was the child support unit ~ they had received a check but did not know who was paying ~ we both pay child support. You would think that this would be common knowledge since we pay different amounts. You would think that this would be common knowledge since we pay mine directly out of our checking account and Dick’s support is withheld from his paycheck. I am chalking this up to a new person in the office! No one that has been there could be so dense. How many years running can they use the excuse “new system.“ They have been using that one for about six years now. I was so happy when they started taking Dick’s child support out of his check because it was one less check that I had to write, one less bill for me to remember to pay since we do not actually get a “bill” every month. Not to mention the fact that was the one “bill” that I really hated paying.

Dick has not seen this child since he was two. When we sent papers for her to sign to have a paternity test done ~ the mother would not sign them. Oh well ~ in less than two years he will be 18 and I hope at that time we will be able to get to know him. I am sure that his mother has not painted a very nice picture of us for him. I hope that some day we get the chance to change that.

I rambled!

After the phone call and the kids left for the bus I went back to sleep. Cocky called to find out if he could pickup paychecks. Yep it is payday! I went back to sleep again and did not wake up until 12:30! How foolish is that! I must stop staying up so late.
