Lovin’ it!
So PG’s friend does really good tats, and I love mine!! He was out of yellow ink and has some ordered and I’m going back another time to get the final details done, but it’s really good. I’m very happy with it. I forgot to take my camera with me, so I’ll take it to work this afternoon and get one of my coworkers to take a pic. Will post it tonight. I showed Norm (Tattoo Guy) some other pics I’ve done, one of which is part of a tattoo I’ve wanted for years. When I described the tree and its seasons, he said he loves tats that have meaning to the person getting them. Then I showed him the tree woman I’ve done–I want her for the trunk of the tree of life–and he said "I’d LOVE to do that!" So, yeah. Probably another tat on the horizon. No surprises there.
PG didn’t pick me up–he was working on his bike a bit at Norm’s, and I got off work early, thanks to a no-show. I hate no-shows, but I had already done four hours of massage, so it wasn’t so bad. When I got there, I gave Norm my sketches and then PG took me out on his bike for a short ride. I had my leather jacket with me, and he lent me a helmet. He took me down to the clinic and then came in to say hi to the people there. His therapy ended over a month ago and he hasn’t had occasion to come by, and everybody likes him, so he popped in. Since I hadn’t been on a motorcycle since I was 8, he told me to put my hands on his shoulders to feel how he was moving, and just move with him on turns. I’m very good at relaxing my body at will, so that was a piece of cake, actually, and it was fun. He had the bike up to 120 km at one spot, and when we stopped for a red light, asked if the fast patch bothered me at all. No, it hadn’t. He told me the speed after we were back at Norm’s. It was a very good experience. His bike is 1100cc, Yamaha Silverado, I think. Beautiful bike. Norm has installed footrests for passengers, which is convenient.
Then he took me back to Norm’s and held my hand when the tattooing started in case I needed something to squeeze, but it wasn’t too bad. I admit to flinching mildly (think of a cat’s back skin twitching when you touch it) for the first few, and there were a few really ‘ouchie’ parts, but nothing unbearable, and Norm never had the needle going for more than 10 or 15 seconds at a time. When PG realized I was fine, he went out to the workshop to paint a piece for a little bike they’re modifying. He’s learning from Norm and having a great time.
He kept coming and going to check the progress of the tat, and of course, kept making comments like, "Oh, you can erase that, right?" and "It’s too bad you can never stay inside the lines." and stuff like that, because he’s an evil bastard. "Isn’t it supposed to have back feet?" Norm answers "No." (Yes, it has its back flippers) "What’s that hanging down? OH! It’s a boy turtle! And he’s circumcized!" I protested at this point that I didn’t want the Jewish turtle, and by the time we were done, the conversation had a combination of dreadlocks, Mohawk, and Mr T’s gold chains on the turtle. It was fun. PG was standing in front of me at one point, peering over my shoulder to look at my low back, which put his groin level with my face, and I pointed out that he had tender bits within reach of my teeth, if I took it in my mind to turn vicious. Norm and I had a brief conversation about PG when he was outside and we agree that he’s a very special person–one of the world’s very good people and hasn’t a clue that he is what he is. I told Norm that if I never saw PG again, just knowing him briefly has made my life better, and Norm totally gets that. He feels the same. I have no idea what there is in PG, but I’m not the only one seeing it.
Norm’s place is where PG is now spending most of his time–they hit it off hugely when they met a few months ago and are now like brothers–they’re funny together. So, apparently, if I want to spend time with PG, I can find him at Norm’s. He said they’d teach me to sand and paint and stuff like that. I would actually love to learn that shit, but sometimes people say things and don’t really mean it. I’ll check with Norm as well, since it’s his place. Time will tell. I’m going back on Sunday the 5th of June to give Norm a massage for part payment for the tat. His g/f has massage covered under her health care plan, so Norm is getting both massages. I got to meet his g/f–she’s super nice, too, and her bike has the coolest paint job. It changes colour with the angle you look at it. They’ve named it "Skittles" after the rainbow candy. And I’m sure I’ll be going back for more tats, which means Norm may be getting massages for years to come!
Life does take interesting turns.
You’ll turn into the painted lady!
