Tat tomorrow

Still haven’t seen PTSD Guy’s tattoo, but he connected me to his buddy, who is willing to trade tattoo for massage, so that’s all good. PTSD Guy (let’s shorten that to PG) is picking me up tomorrow on his bike to take me for my tat. I told him getting me on a motorcycle requires all kinds of trust on my part and he offered to bring another vehicle instead, but I told him I think I trust his skills enough to give it a shot. It’s not a far jaunt from here and being on a motorcycle takes me out of my comfort zone and that’s not a bad thing. And maybe I can get a look at his tattoo as well. I really would like to see samples of the guy’s work. He’s been doing it for a long time, and is now only doing it as a hobby. The only way to get in to him is by being referred by one of his friends, so it’s good that PG did that for me.

Met with a lady yesterday who has had a mastectomy, and I’m going to make her a custom crocheted boob. She’s rather overweight (aren’t a lot of us?) and needs a little extension into the side of the bra to match the flesh on the other side. The scar is horrific. It looks like the doctor closed her eyes and slashed sideways from breastbone out to the side below the back of the armpit. There’s a lump of fatty tissue near the breast bone, and random lumps and bumps all along the way. I’ve only seen one worse mastectomy scar in all my years of doing massage. Anyway, I hope I can make her something that will work for her. We’ll see. I borrowed one of her bras so I can use that to measure my progress.

What else? Nothing much, I guess. I’ll try to remember to take my camera to get a pic of the tattoo when it’s done. It might be a good idea to wait until the redness and such subsides. I’m looking forward to this. Go figure.

Ooo, I’d be looking forward to the motorcycle ride! haha 🙂 I’m sure he’ll be very careful to make it as comfortable for you as possible. So nice what you’re doing for the lady. I have a friend who had a double mastectomy earlier this year, simply can’t imagine. She completes her last chemo this week. I’ve not seen her since right before the surgery in February. Couple short emails isall. Maybe when she’s feeling better …

Wonderful about the crocheting. I hadn’t heard of crocheted boobs before, but it makes perfect sense.I’ve never been on a motorcycle, either. A friend of mine (who had a double mastectomy, probably a couple years ago now) grew up on motorcycles and absolutely loves them. Good luck with the tat!

I’d take a motorcycle ride before a tattoo any day! How awful that someone did such a horrible job on that woman’s mastectomy. There is no reason for that to happen at all.

that poor woman. Perhaps the doc assumed she would have a reconstruction done so wasn’t careful?

A tat AND a motorcycle ride? Go Torin!

I would love the motorcycle ride too. The tat I’d pass on. I have never found anything I’ve liked well enough to make it a permanent part of my body. Do post a pic early on, the colors are so intense once the swelling goes down.
