Days 20 through 22 of 24/7

Life got horribly in the way of any writing at all for the past few days. I am currently on a mad writing spree, thinking about supper and the nice red wine I opened the other day. I think a glass of wine will not be amiss.

Day 20’s is a haiku

Songs

Birdsong rises up
Lifts my weary spirit high
I can bear the day

***

Day 21

Summer Day

We sit in the river and watch minnows
They nibble our legs and arms
Watchful of swimming over open palms
Fingerlings feeding on dead skin cells
A spa treatment for free
Everybody wins

***

Day 22

Family

A surprise visit
Brings son and his wife to me
Family are we

***

I’ll be back with Day 23 later. I hope.

lol..I am remembering when we lived by the lake back home. You went in and, immediately the fish would start nibbling on your legs. That was enough for me–I would swim at home..in the pool WITHOUT living creatures in it! Blessings, always,

Grinning over here. When I lived in Cambridge, MA, I took my “inflatable yacht” to Spy Pond a mile over in next-door Arlington. Nibbly-fish over there, too. 🙂

these spoke to me today after mowing the lawn and finding my feet cool on the grass. What a shock after so many hot days and how sad to this summer child

ryn: haha you rock! I miss the bar too! I make these marshmallow coated in toffee and rolled in rice krispie things… and it’s such a pain in the ass to unwrap all those little bite-sized ones. Stupid Toffee…. I also used to like to freeze the bar and then eat it… Mmmmmm
