TORONTO

We drove to Toronto on Friday. We left at nine and arrived about three thirty. The drive was easy especially for me as I slept most of the way. For the first time hubby admitted that he didn’t enjoy driving the whole way so we will share the driving home. That’s ok with me because otherwise I just sleep.
My daughter came about four. We chatted in the room. Then we went to THE KEG for supper. I had a delicious filet mignon. Hubby had roast beef but only ate half. For whatever reason he is cutting down on his eating. It could be just beef which we never really eat a lot of anymore.
At supper my daughter wanted to know if and how we would help her if she wanted to have a wedding. We discussed a few options but hubby and I have not made up our minds yet. I never thought that she would want a wedding which was stupid of me. Every girl/woman wants a wedding……….to be the center of attention etc. We discussed various scenarios like a destination wedding but she realized that most of the family is old, sick so wouldn’t be able to be there. Anyhow her boyfriend wants to wait until she gets her PHD so it will be at least a year or more.
My daughter wants to buy me the adult tricycle I want so badly. My hubby had nothing but “bad” things to say about me getting a bike. I was so upset with him but of course I said nothing. I have the money saved up from my birthday money. I don’t know why he can never be happy for me. He always has to rain on my parade! My daughter insists on ordering it today. We will see. I can return it if I don’t like it or use it so I don’t understand my hubby’s problem with it.
Saturday morning we went to visit hubby’s brother. His wife is at her wit’s end. She has been caring for him for the last fifty years. It has gotten steadily worse!!!!! I felt so sad for her. I told hubby we will never be in that situation. We will go into a senior home etc. It is not a life for either of them!
After that we met my daughter and her boyfriend for lunch. After lunch my hubby and her boyfriend went to their respective homes and we went shopping. We went to a yarn store but ended up just looking. Instead we went to Michaels and she chose some wool so I can make her a cushion like I am making for my son. I also bought a book of baby patterns and will start crocheting clothes for the next baby that comes along!!!!
In the evening we had the fiftieth wedding anniversary party. We went to a HUGE Chinese buffet. It was very good especially the chicken wings. We sat with hubby’s sister and cousins and had a very good time. The party was very low key. Only the hubby spoke about his “wonderful” wife. She did put up with a lot during their marriage but he has finally become a mensch.
This morning we are going to visit hubby’s brother again. Their children and grandchildren will be there too.
Then I am going to spend some hours with my sister. I am debating if I should invite my cousins to come. I wasn’t planning to but I just might. After that we will relax. Tonight we are going to see our daughter’s new place and will have supper with them. We are driving home tomorrow even though I would have like to stay one more day.
I am anxious to get home to visit my friend in the hospital.
I also plan to visit the dermatologist, make an appointment for a golf lesson and maybe just maybe take out my grandchildren. It will be a short but busy week.
It’s only 6:30 so maybe I’ll crawl back into bed.
