A HOSPITAL VISIT

Yesterday I went to visit my friend in the hospital. I have another friend there but for whatever reason I didn’t go see her the last two times I was at the hospital. I guess I just can’t go from one to the other anymore. I will visit next week. She was doing much better but apparently she made a wrong move and was in a lot of pain the last two days.
Yesterday I stayed with my friend while his wife went to her office. She works for a small Jewish newspaper. The newspaper is going out of business at the end of June so that will be the end of her job. She is not very happy. Not only will she miss the money but also having a place to go.
At the hospital I went to buy a special parking pass. It was costing me 20 each time because it is very very congested around the hospital. I paid 80 for the month which is much cheaper. My friend told the parking attendant that I was helping her look after her husband.
My friend is doing a bit better. We had a pleasant afternoon. I think he got bored. I wanted to sing some songs but couldn’t get up the nerve. Next time I will bring cards. Maybe we will be able to play. I will also bring some music. Tomorrow he is going to have a feeding tube put into his stomach!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope all goes well but he told the doctor that he doesn’t want any special treatment if it doesn’t go well. He doesn’t want to end up with any tubes etc. he doesn’t want to live in the hospital. I can’t blame him.
Today we are going to the country. I will try to enjoy it for all my friends who can’t go anymore. I plan to take lots of pictures to share with them.
I came home after 6. We had an easy supper and then I went to watch I LOVE LUCY. Before I knew it I was fast asleep. About ten I woke up and went into bed. I slept till 4:30. I’m going to try to go back to sleep soon.
