THE FIRST DAY

My first day on the road was fine. I was a little tired in the morning so stopped at a gas station and had a short nap. By the time I reached Albany, hubby had come and gone. No problem! I am NOT in a rush. It was a dismal (rainy) day and I have a feeling the rest of the trip may be the same.
I checked into the Hampton Inn. I unpacked and plugged in all my electronic stuff. Then I went out for lunch and shopping. I wanted to go to the OUTBACK for lunch but it wasn’t open until late afternoon. I went to IHOP instead. Then I went to TRADER JOES. It’s a fairly new store here. It was very busy. I bought some cereal etc. I think the first Trader Joe I was in was in New York many years ago. It has some interesting products. I didn’t look at any vegies or dairy products. Then I went to Barnes and Noble. I took in my shopping cart so I could pile in everything I wanted to look at. IT WAS FUN! I was there a couple of hours. I sat in the coffee shop for awhile so I could check all the books out. Instead of buying the books I just copied the titles down. Am I good or what? FUN! In the end I only bought one book – the second in the series that I am reading – 39 CLUES!!!!! I also bought some journals. I went to OUTBACK for supper. By the time I got back to the room it was close to nine.
So now it’s 2:32. I must get
back to bed because in the morning it’s on the road again. I have no idea where I will end up tomorrow night as I am taking a different route. I spoke to several people yesterday and they told me NOT to go anywhere near NY or New Jersey. SO SAD! When I get to Florida hubby and I will give a donation to the "disaster. Maybe not much but something.
Thank you for all your good wishes. I am so happy to have you all encouraging me and wishing me a safe trip.

Sounds like a really nice first day! I love looking through books and jotting down titles. I seem to have good luck with this in the section at Target. And then I take my list to the Library’s website to see what I can request! Sounds like some yummy meals! Enjoy!
