JUST FOR TODAY
JUST FOR TODAY
Just for today I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my whole life problem at once. I can do something for twelve hours that would appal me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that “most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
Just for today I will adjust myself to what is and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my ‘luck’ as it comes and fit myself to it.
Just for today I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
Just for today I will exercise my soul in three ways. I will do a good turn and not get found out; if anybody knows of it it will not count. I will do at least two things I don’t want to do – just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.
Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.
Just for today I will have a programme. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.
Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour I will try to get a better perspective on my life.
Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.
Just for today – God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. “

i like this. shows that it’s all in your attitude and that you can make things good every day just by deciding that’s how the day will be. take care,

ryn: i’ve read fall of the giant, that is if it’s the book i think it is. okay i just looked it up. it is the book i read. it’s the first book in a trilogy. the second book is out just recently. will have to get the 2nd book. might ask for it for christmas. the trilogy is by ken follett. love his writing. yes, blake and i are very close. he comes to my house when his parents get on his nerves. hecomes to me to feed him when he doesn’t like what his parents fixed for dinner. he wants me to lay with him when he’s sick. he snuggles up to me in his bed and puts my arm around him. that makes him feel better he says. yes, we’re close. his mom says he will never be able to get married cause he’ll never find a woman who will spoil him like i do!!! take care,

ryn: As far as scrapping goes I am quicker than most. Even as a fast scrapper it is still time consuming. I’m sure you know that. When I’m really, really moving I might complete a single page in 15 minutes on average. A more usual pace would be a half hour for a page. Usually when I scrap all day or all weekend and average it out it is somewhere in the 15 – 30 minute range. For me, I like that feel of accomplishing a lot with my time but, as long as your enjoying the hobby the time frame per page shouldn’t matter much.
