WAITING

Hubby and I are waiting for our son and his family. We were up early. I just hope it doesn’t rain. Hubby went out for breakfast. I stayed home. Already I straightened out a few cupboards. It’s sad that it took me so long to rearrange some cupboards. I had foil etc. on low shelves where I just "threw" everything. It was a mess and hard to reach. Well I put the chips down there as they are "PRINGLES" AND MUCH EAISER TO REACH AND KEEP ORGANIZED. I PUT THE FOIL ETC. ON THE UPPER SHELF WHERE I CAN REACH THEM EASILY. WHY DID IT TAKE ME OVER TWENTY YEARS TO Rearrange stuff. Just look through your cupboards and think of what should be at arm’s reach and what could go up much higher. What do you use more often????? I threw out some coffee and other food that was years old. I just never climbed on a ladder to look through the upper shelves. Now I did!!!!!
Did you watch the Opening Ceremony? I did but I wasn’t too excited. I did enjoy watching the countries enter. I keep a close watch on the US, Canada and Israel. Now they have the bicycle race on. It’s so long. I don’t know why they have to show all of it. It is too boring as far as I’m concerned. I want to see diving and gymnastics!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My new laptop is cool. I hope my son will make time today to show me a few pointers.
So today I am very grateful that it isn’t raining.
I am grateful for the energy to organize.
I am grateful for having a full fridge.
I am grateful my son and his family are coming.
I am grateful for books. I finished LETHAL by Sandra Brown.
Have a wonderful weekend. Take time to smell the roses. The washing and cleaning will be there tomorrow.

When I bought glass storage containers to replace plastic ones, I had to reorganize my entire kitchen and pantry, as they had to be within easy reach because they are heavier. What a job! Congrats on getting it done in your house.

We had to do that recently, because with a baby on the way i had to move some things in place for baby’s bottles, etc. What a chore!

ryn: You’re very welcome. I very much enjoy reading your diary! The way you record your thoughts has helped me sort through some of my own concerns and has provided inspiration many times when I needed it 🙂

Diving and gymnastics are the only parts of the summer olympics that I’m interested in either… the horsey stuff is okay too, if a bit slow-paced. (huggles)

My husband is tall. I am short. He likes to put everything up high where he can reach it. YUCK!!

Congratulations on cleaning out your cupboard; so satisfying. You’ve reminded me I need to do mine – but not today. I’m sorry you didn’t really enjoy the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Yes, a small screen means you miss interesting detail, I think. Also, there was an enormous amount to take in. I suspect it wouldn’t have had quite as much meaning for many Americans as for those of us in commonwealth countries, as we were brought up on British history, music, children’s stories etc., and we kept meeting old friends via that screen.
