A GOOD DAY
I am always surprised at how my mood changes "at the drop of a hat!" It is very HOT here so I was getting cranky. I was thinking that my condo at home is so cool why did I have to come here????? Well the trailer cooled off. I am relaxed and happy. We went into town food shopping. I made a big order as it is suppose to be much cheaper.
Now we are waiting for friends to come over to play LIVERPOOL.
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. I think it is suppose to be HOT again. I should have brought a bathing suit but I forgot. The water is usually ice cold so I stopped going years ago. Now people are saying that the water is ok. Maybe because it so much hotter!
I have been upset this past week as a few toddlers have drowned in pools outside. Can you believe it? Where the hell are the babysitters or parents??????? When we had a country house by the lake my boys did not go out of the house without wearing a life jacket even if they weren’t going swimming!!!!! Have you had this experience near you?
Anyhow hubby is complaining about the decks of cards so I better go. More later maybe.
Hi Ginger! So glad you enjoyed the poem. One of the secrets I have to keep going in life, regardless of knockbacks,is to be happy with my lot.Life wasn’t meant to be easy and the roygh patches make the good ones so VERY worthwhile. And because we all interrelate with other people,we have to take into account the unknown back story of their lives, how they are feeling! You seem to have a very good life .

And you have the freedom and money and time to do whatever you want, when you want.I no longer expect material worth to bring happiness.Being loved and needed is the most important thing.AND having a laugh every day!And if you feel sleepy, sleep!if you have a bad sleep one night, don’t panic.you’ll sleep well the next.Simple isn’t it!!Lotsa love and hugsxxxxx

you have to watch kids like a hawk if you have a pool, that can drown in seconds…Unfortuntely it happens a lot.

We spend a ton of time at my uncle’s camp that’s right on the river. No child under the age of 12 is allowed near the dock without a life-jacket. Heck most of the kids run around with them on all the time. All the kids also know that at least one adult has to be on the dock at all times.

I’ve been reading about the heatwaves in the US, the worst ever recorded. My heart goes out to you. We had similar conditions in 2009, but the last two years have been ok (El Nino brings heat to us and cool to you, while La Nina does the oppposite. I hear El Nino is coming back, so shortly you should be cooler, and us hotter again .) We’ve had toddler deaths in hot weather, but the regulationsfor home pools are now very strict (fences, locks), and the numbers of deaths have dropped, thank goodness. RYN: Yes, wouldn’t it be wonderful if countries would give up their arms willingly! But it won’t happen – so regulations are the next best thing, I think, just as we have regulations to restrict the speeds we drive, to protect others – and ourselves, too.

How can I have not known before today that you’re in Montreal and regularly (sort of) visit Ottawa? I’ve been here ten years – you’ve been here even longer. Geez! Anyway.. nice to be here now!

In the prairies, people let their children play outside on farms near ponds. I love your idea of the life jacket on. I also don’t understand why someone would allow their child outside unsupervised. My cousin drowned when he four years old in a golf course pond. All my family know it was my aunt’s fault for allowing him to out without watching him.
