ARE YOU A “GOOD” FRIEND?
I have spoken to several friends lately. The ones who are sick complain that they hardly ever hear from their friends. Some people who have been friends for many many years. I remember my best friend complaining years ago that the same thing happened to her. After her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour she hardly heard from some friends. So what do you do?
When one of your friends get sick,
DO YOU CALL ON A REGULAR BASIS?
DO YOU GO VISIT?
DO YOU CALL TO OFFER TO KEEP THE "SICK" FRIEND COMPANY WHILE THE CARETAKER HAS SOME TIME OUT ALONE?
DO YOU PREPARE SOME FOOD AND GO SHARE IT WITH THE "SICK" FRIENDS?
DO YOU SEND A GET WELL CARD OR A CARD JUST TO CHEER YOU UP?
If you don’t think about how you would feel if you were deserted in a time of need. So today take some time to visit or call a sick friend. It will be greatly appreciated.
On the same note I am picking up a "sick" friend at lunch time and taking her to our senior center where we will meet her sister for lunch. They don’t see each other often because one lives in an upstairs apartment so the other can’t go up and the other has trouble up and down.
Tomorrow night we are going to a friend’s home. I will either prepare a dish or bring something over for supper.
SO TODAY THINK OF A FRIEND, MAYBE A NEIGHBOUR, AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
A good reminder. Thanks.
