END RESULT OR PROCESS-edited

I think many people think about what is more important – the end result or the process. Like does the end justify the means?……………………. I guess in many cases both are important.
This morning I have been tidying up – especially my art room where my grandson and I painted yesterday afternoon. I can’t help thinking that in this particular case the process was much more important. He was so thrilled to be able to paint a wall. He was so happy using all the different kinds of brushes I have. He was so excited to mix the colours together and see what colour he would end up with!!!!!!!!!!! He was so happy to be with me!
He put on a large orange garbage bag over his clothes even though my son told me his t-shirt was five dollars so it didn’t matter if he got paint on it. It was sad to see how upset he was when paint landed on the garbage bag??????? I explained to him over and over that that is why he was wearing the garbage bag. It didn’t matter!!!!!!
During our painting session we ended up with paint on our faces and paint on the floor and paint on the wall even. LOL!!!!!!!!
I am not thrilled with the end result but I hardly ever am. Also in this case it doesn’t matter. We can paint over it or just add some different touches.
WHEN I SAY PAINTED THE WALL WE DIDN’T JUST PAINT IT WHITE. WE PAINTED A WHOLE LARGE COLORFUL ABSTRACT ON THE WALL. THERE ARE STILL PAONT DRIPS ON THE FLOOR. WHO CARES? HUBBY PROBABLY BUT THE CLEANING LADY WILL LOOK AFTER IT NEXT WEEK.
I took a bunch of pictures and sent them to his mother and other family members.
IT WAS A VERY FUN AFTERNOON SO I PLAN TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIM LIKE WE USE TO.
My DIL told me yesterday that she threw out his last pair of jeans which had paint on them. Too bad because he could have worn them the next time we painted.
I have to plan more art activities for the two of us.
Now to fold clothes and do some exercise.
I need a manicure and haircut so may go out later. It’s extremely HOT so not sure if I really want to. I might do my hair in the country………….it might be cheaper but do I trust them?

I bet your grandson was absolutely thrilled to be able to have so much uninhibited fun with you! And likewise, you with him 🙂 I know you’re not wanting to spend any extra money, but I wonder if you could find him a old pair of over-alls at a thrift store or garage sale that you could set aside from him to wear when he next comes to paint with you? Kids love to have special clothes and uniforms to add to the fun of things 🙂

ryn: Yeah, there are lots of reasons more women are infertile these days. I think the number one reason is age. Women are waiting longer. But I also think that a lifetime of eating processed food has really wreaked havoc on our health, including fertility. Your niece hasn’t e-mailed me yet, but I’m sure she will when she’s ready. 🙂

I can’t wait to do this in my sons soon to be club house that we’re slowly building. I have demanded he have one wall as a chalk board in it. The other walls I think he’ll get to paint one. When I lived with my parents I lived in the basement and had free will to paint on the walls in my section. The naked fairy is forever talked about to this days, all because of her nipple showing.
