MY WONDERFUL WEEKEND IN TO

So this past weekend we were in Toronto and I had a wonderful visit with family. We also have friends there but there is little enough time to see family so we don’t even try to see friends. I use to go to TO myself for about five days so I had more time but I haven’t done that lately. It’s expensive and I don’t like to leave my hubby alone for too long.
So the drive to TO is long and boring. I actually sleep most of the way.
We arrived about three o’clock. We lazed around waiting for my daughter to arrive. Of course hubby was tired as he did all the driving. I use to ask him if I could drive a little because of the boredom but I don’t anymore. So I was waiting and waiting. Finally I decided to go swimming and even though I was alone in the pool I went. My daughter finally arrived and came to the pool with my hubby. I stayed half an hour and then we went back to the room. I changed and we went for supper to Pizza Hut. Her boyfriend joined us also. We discovered that Pizza Hut is a great place to go and have a quiet talk. Friday night seems to be very quiet in the ones we’ve gone to.
Saturday morning hubby went to see one of our great nephews place soccer. I opted out because I wasn’t going to sit in the sun. Also hubby never wants to go see our grandsons so…………..He came back and picked me up. Then we went to his brother’s house. From there I took him back to the hotel. I went for lunch with my sister and daughter. She has matured so much. I am so proud of her. She treated us both for lunch. We went to coffee to another restaurant. We talked a lot and got caught up in all our news. Then I went home for a quick nap. At night we went for supper with Hubby’s brother and sister and their spouses. We went to Mis Va Mis. I had lamb chops which were not great.
That was Saturday.
Sunday we went for brunch to a niece from hubby’s side. Her two sisters were their with all our great nieces and nephews. We sat around till about one. Then we were off to visit with hubby’s sister. She always wants us to come up to the house so we did. After we have supper out she invites us but we never go. We just don’t feel like going. It’s late. Her daughter came to make a duty call for Father’s Day. I use to be close to this daughter but hardly see her anymore. I am not sure what happened but apparently her hubby had a "fight" with her father. So sad! She hardly sees the family anymore.
Personally I don’t want to go after eating out because I know she will serve and I’ve eaten enough.
After visiting with his sister we went back to the hotel so I could have a quick nap.
Then we went to my niece’s home for supper. I am so impressed with this family. There are four children – two boys and two girls. The girls are gorgeous. I would be afraid to let them out of the house!!!!!!! Supper was delicious. Everything was prepared before hand and ready to go. The table was set in the dining room etc. The children help with the serving and clean up. So does the hubby. My niece was there with her family but she does nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know she brought something to eat but as far as serving or cleaning up she does nothing. The children are between 12 and 20. Anyhow we had a wonderful evening and didn’t get home until 12!
I spoke to them about the upcoming Bar Mitzvah. It will be on December 1. I will come back for it but hubby won’t. They will be going to Israel December 22. I am not sure if I will meet them there or not. I don’t think hubby is interested in going at that time. If they were having the Bar there it would be a different matter.
Monday we woke up had breakfast and drove home.
My daughter and her boyfriend are trying to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. They both don’t want to stay at their current professions. Her boyfriend said that maybe they would move to Montreal; maybe California. Say what????????? That would be very far from both families.
The bad news is that one of my favourite cousins in TO has breast cancer and will have a lumpectomy next Monday. I may decide to go back to see her!
Tomorrow another busy day as I have to take my grandson to the learning center and then we’re playing bridge here. I have to get some stuff to serve but at least my cleaning lady will be here so she will have the place all cleaned up. Hubby will also be here all day so will be able to set up the tables and chairs.
I finished reading another book – a mystery. COOK THE BOOKS by Jessica Conant = Park and Susan Conant. – east to read and kept me interested. Now to find another book……….
So that’s it! Time to go back to bed.
