OTTAWA
Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was cool. I just didn’t want to stay in so instead we drove to Ottawa to visit friends. It’s just about two hours away. I have known the woman for over forty years and hubby has known the man even longer. In fact we fixed them up. When he went to pick her up for their fist date she almost didn’t get into his car which was a very old car. I can’t remember what it was.
Anyhow we only left after 11. We stopped once at Dunkin Donuts to have coffee and a bagel.
To make a long story short our friend, Z, has been in the hospital about five months. He is in rehab now. He was just home for the weekend. His wife has always been very emotional and easily upset. Well this has really taken a toll on her. She has no family in Ottawa. They either moved or died. It is very sad as she has no support in Ottawa and she needs some. Her hubby is suffering from some kind of circulation problem. He also had some brain bleeds and needed at least two operations a few months ago. He will be going home from the hospital November 1. She was crying and weepy most of the time. She tries to micro manage him and he probably needs some of it. He is in terrible pain because the circulation to his feet is ultra poor. There was talk of amputating one or both feet/legs. I’m not sure as I haven’t heard anything lately. Anyhow we had a great visit. We arrived home after 10. I was exhausted but for whatever reason I couldn’t fall asleep.
In the morning we have a Bar Mitzvah. Then in the afternoon I am taking my granddaughter out for a few hours. There is no school and her mother is working so my son was stuck with the three of them. Since I planned to take each of them at least once before I go to Florida this was a perfect opportunity. I am not sure what we will do – maybe go swimming if she wants.
We have decided to invite our friends here for coffee next Saturday night. None have sen the condo yet! We’ll have about 20………………..just serving coffee and cake so it will be easy.
I was telling hubby on the way home that I use to wrote on Facebook every morning. I stopped a few weeks ago and there wasn’t one person who wrote or called to see where or how I was. INTERESTING??????????
Hubby keeps saying I lost weight. I’ll know when I go back on the WII. I don’t seem to be as hungry as I use to. I hardly nosh anymore.
So that’s the end of my story for today. Back to bed.

Yeah when I left Facebook I was surprised that only 3 people bothered over he last six months to see how I was. But then I know that I’ve bad friends that left Facebook and I never followed up with them either. You and hubby are good to visit sick and lonely friends. So important! Wow, exciting that your husband notices your weight loss!

Haven’t been on here was camping and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. But as soon as we got back and I got on line, your journal was the first one I checked 🙂 I don’t post often but I do read the journals here and yours is one of my favorites. You would be missed 🙂

I use FB to play a couple of games and keep up with my children. A lot of the people I have friended could be gone and I’d never know it. Actually one did leave but I know why. Now OD is different.

I like Facebook but it’s not like OD. More impersonal… Great you are spending time with your granddaughter !!
