OUR HANUKAH PARTY AND MORE

Our Hanukah party was a huge success as always. It was quiet as our friend who plays the accordion isn’t here yet. We had supper and lots of interesting conversation. I had plenty of food. I froze some potato and salmon latkes for another time. The party broke up after 10.
My decorations are still up of course and I plan to leave my tree up for a long time as I love it. Some of the other decorations I will put away when Hanukah is over.
Sunday was a quiet day. I did three loads of washing early in the morning. Then in the afternoon we went to the pool. I hope to go most afternoons as it’s the only time I work on my needlepoint. All the women at the pool are knitting or working on a needlepoint.  I hope to get it finished by the end of the season.
We were suppose to go out for supper with friends but in the end we didn’t. The husband never told his wife so she decided they should stay home. Instead the two of use went over to AC MOORE. I bought some wool to make some Barbie Doll clothes. I have so much to do. I don’t know what to do first.
Today was my shopping day. Hubby went to play golf and then tonight he went to play cards.
I went to a million places and bought a lot of stuff for my grandchildren. They will be driving to New York in February so I bought stuff they can use in the car. I came home around seven, had a quick supper and now here I am.
Last night I started to work on my sister’s scrapbook. I wish I didn’t have to put everything away when my kids come but they will be sleeping in my craft room so I’ll have to put everything away. The next thing I want to start is my quilt.
So that’s about it. Time to read some entries and relax.

I started a scrapbook about 4 years ago…unfortunately, I just haven’t done much with it other than put photos and paper in a box to “get to one day when I have time.”

Wordspinner wrote a great entry on Hannukah and its origin. I’m so glad he did. I hope you will enjoy a festive season with lots of happiness and cheer in your new home.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about family traditions for various holidays and realizing sadly that I let some go prematurely and now my teens and young adult children don’t remember the things we did when they were small. I like reading about other family’s too, and thanks for sharing yours!

Glad it was a success!

Glad to hear it went well. It’s a shame you have to pur away your craft stuff while your kids are there. Could it not just be covered somehow? I don’t know your setup in the craft room but it would be nice to have it accessible.
