SO VERY FRUSTRATED ONCE AGAIN

I am so frustrated. Why don’t things change? I just got a call from a friend who wants me to bring something across the border for her. It’s no problem to bring it BUT she wants me to bring a breast pump for 300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a leader in the La Leche League for over twenty years. Once you start with a  breast pump forget it. Why don’t mothers understand that???? She wants to use it at night? Why don’t mothers understand and accept that once you’re a mother sleep is a luxury!!!!!!!!!! Once you start introducing bottles and pacifiers etc. the baby gets mixed up and so does your milk supply.
The person who is going to give the bottle can change their diaper, rock them etc. Why dot hey need to feed them????
It is so frustrating to realize that in over fifty years NOTHING has changed. Mothers are still doing the same stupid things and doctors and nurses still know nothing about breastfeeding. Mothers are still not respected in many cases and parenting is seen as something to do when there is nothing else to do. When will parents realize how important they are to their children? Thank goodness many people are choosing NOT to have children. I think they are making a wise decision.
RAISING CHILDREN IS NOT FOR SISSIES! In many cases it is a difficult, time-consuming and thankless job. Yes, parenting is a JOB! It is a 24 hour, seven day a week job. There is little time off. There is no sick days and no holidays. You’re lucky if you have a supportive husband and family around.
I just had to vent about this issue which is so close to my heart and soul!!!!!

I didn’t breast feed any of my kids and they all turned out OK. I think everyone has to do what will work best for them, everyone is different.

I breast fed for 3 months but my milk dried up so I had to put my kid on formula I was not happy about it. I totally agree with the last part of your entry. There are to many people out there that are parents that just don’t realize what being a good parent is all about.

I breastfed for 3 months and loved it. Had to give it up because of allergies–couldn’t take meds for that and breastfeed. I so agree with this entry.
