ONE DOWN ONE TO GO

So the first seder is over and done with. It was relaxing and stress free as it was only my hubby, my son and I. He came a lot earlier than I expected so I had to rush a little at the end. They were both hungry. We did the service which took a little over half an hour. Even though I edited some of the service out it was still long and a little boring. I will try to trim it down even more for tonight as children are not the most patient. I want to make it fun! Hubby pointed out that  jewish book usually opens from right to left and I had done it the other way. Oh well!!!!
During the day I slowly got things done. Hubby was a big help. He went to pick up my order at the bakery. He cut up some vegies which will be for tonight. We also had some yesterday. I had time for a nap and a quiet bath.
Today is another story. I have 18 people coming including six children under 6. It will be hectic. I have to psych myself up to RELAX!!!!!! My nephew and his wife are coming. He is my sister’s oldest son. Then I have my cousin who is a cookbook writer and publisher coming with her two sons and three grandchildren. Of course my two sons will be here and their three children.
So today I want to look through the Haggadah to see how to do it. I want to check the guest room and put in some things for them to play with.
I have to take food out of the freezer. I have a long list for my cleaning lady. I am so relieved she is coming.
So tonight I am serving:
hard boiled eggs
chopped liver
gefilte fish
meatballs
chicken soup with knaidles
celery salad
quinoa salad
turkey
brisket and roast potatoes
My cousin is bringing dessert.
I don’t know why it feels like the weekend. I can’t believe it’s Tuesday.
I found a store nearby that sells Pysanky supplies. I will probably go over tomorrow to buy some stuff. I have wanted to start all winter. I think it will be a great morale booster.
I will also buy a birthday card for my son.
Back later.
On with the show.

Oy! You do indeed have a very busy day ahead. I hope it goes well for you. Do you ever share recipes? I don’t think I have had these dishes before and would be interested in trying some.
