JUST A BRIEF ADDED NOTE-SHARE AND LISTEN

I discussed this with my daughter and just wanted to write this here for everyone but especially for the young.
LISTEN!
LISTEN TO YOUR ELDERS!
LISTEN TO THOSE WHO HAVE HAD MORE EXPERIENCE THAN YOU.
IF SOMEONE HAS HAD A BABY LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT BABIES.
IF SOMEONE READ A BOOK LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT.
IF SOMEONE IS RAISING CHILDREN LISTEN TO THEIR METHODS AND IDEAS.
IF SOMEONE HAS DRIVEN THROUGH AN ICE STORM LISTEN.
IN OTHER WORDS LISTEN TO THOSE PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE!
YOU HAVE TWO EARS AND ONE MOUTH.
LISTEN MORE THAN YOU SPEAK!!!!
LISTEN!
LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO HAS LOST WEIGHT.
LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO HAS QUIT SMOKING.
LISTEN!
OPEN YOUR TWO EARS.
CLOSE YOUR MOUTH.
LISTEN!
YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT BUT LISTEN TO EXPERIENCE AND THEN MAKE YOUR DECISION.
LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO HAS SURVIVED AN EARTHQUAKE.
LISTEN TO THE PERSON WHO LOST A RELATIVE OR EVEN WORSE A CHILD.
LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND WHO IS HAVING MARITAL PROBLEMS.
LISTEN!
YOU CAN ONLY NOD AND HUM.
YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE THE ANSWERS.
LISTEN!
ALSO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH OTHERS.
SHARE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU IN THE KITCHEN.
SHARE HOW YOU MAKE THE MORNINGS EASIER ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN.
SHARE!!!
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
SHARE THOSE BARGAINS YOU FIND.
SHARE THOSE CLOTHES AND OTHER THINGS YOU DON’T NEED!
SHARE AND LISTEN!
MY ADVICE FOR TODAY!
YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO WHAT OTHERS DID BUT LISTEN AND SEE IF THEIR IDEAS WILL WORK FOR YOU.
BE OPEN!!!!!!!!! KEEP AN OPEN MIND!

Absolutely true! I have learned a LOT from other people over the years. Listening with an open mind is soooo important! hugs, Weesprite

you ever notice that people who tell you to listen like to do an awful lot of talking themselves?

not always

What exciter said…

im always open to listening to things cause my mottow is ill listen to your opinion but i may or maynot take it. good advice.

Sadly, most times people learn by doing instead of being told, and they might not believe what they are told until it actually happens to them… But if someone is going to share, they should listen to what you have to say as well.

I might listen but that doesn’t mean I have to heed your advice, especially about child raising. Times have changed, so has parenting, and a lot of ‘older ways’ are not appropriate anymore.

I like the saying “keep an open mind, but don’t let your brains fall out”

I agree with you. I frequently argue with my 26 yr old son about this stuff. I tell him I am trying to save him hard lessons and pain by offering up what I did right and what I did wrong. Does he think I want to see him fail??? He doesnt pay any attention and I probably didn’t when I was 26 either.

This is one of the best entries I’ve read this year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This is just an opinion . What we have noticed is most times when young people do not listen to elders it is because the elders are yelling at them or spreaking TO them not “with” them, or disrespecting them. ANY human would not listen if that was an elder’s attitude. We learn a lot by learning how people listen and what they listen to. That’s just my opinion. First beforewe instruct youngers to listen to elders, honestly , we need to instruct elders on how to speak with youngers. whisper —if you want to get someone’s attention. That perfume ad was so correct. itiswelljournal
