DAY ONE ON THE ROAD – OK

I woke up about five this morning. I thought I would go back to sleep but couldn’t so I got up, packed what was left and took off. I was surprised how easy the drive was to the border. It’s about an hour away. The guy at the border asked me how much money I had. I told him about 100. Actually I had very little as my hubby deposited my travel money in my U.S account so I am using my debit card.
I drove until Albany, New York about three hours south of the border.
I checked into a motel and then had lunch at IHOP. I love their Harvest and grain pancakes. Then I went shopping. I looked around a lot but didn’t buy much. I went to JC PENNEY to look for sneakers but my feet were tired, hot and sweaty so didn’t think it was a good time to buy. The price was right. I’ll look again another day.
I went to AC MOORE and MICHAELS. Again I just looked. I went to Borders and Barnes and Noble. I was planning to buy some books for my grandsons but wasn’t impressed with the ones my son’s girlfriend suggested so I wrote her to see if she wants me to buy them. They are the BOB books for learning to read.
I had supper at Ruby Tuesday. I had their mini hamburgers.
I wanted to buy a holder for my Blackberry phone but Verizon was so busy that I didn’t have the patience to wait.
I did buy some hand lotion and soap from Bed and Bath. I love their products.

Now I’m back at the room and plan to go to sleep. I have to figure out how much time I need to drive from here to the Newark airport in new Jersey.

Good night. More tomorrow.
