A GLORIOUS SHOPPING DAY -OK

After all the talk about materialism I shopped all day. I didn’t buy that much but I did spend the day shopping in the States. I bought myself a new phone to use in the States especially Florida. I bought some scrapbook paper and a new SLICE machine. I spent a lot of time looking for toys for my grandchildren but didn’t buy anything. I don’t know what to get them.
Their favorite toy as far as I know is the Nintendo DS. I was going to buy them a game for that but I would LOVE to get them something else. I would like to get them something "meaningful" – a board game? A game that they would play with others and NOT by themselves. If anyone has ideas I would appreciate your help.
For my grandaughter her mother suggested the Barbie Van. I don’t like Barbies. They are much too skinny. It’s not normal. It’s not realistic. I can’t stand that she plays with that doll which does not represent the shape of women in real life. I was going to give in and buy it but so far I’m not. I think I should buy her craft supplies instead so maybe that’s what I’ll do. I think I’ll buy what I think my grandchildren should be playing with. If it’s a mistake so be it. I know my grandson’s other grandmother bought him the newest NINTENDO. I am fighting city hall and I think I should!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I slept pretty well last night. As suggested I left on many lights and the TV. I did wake up during the night but that is normal for me.
So now I’ll say goodnight. I’m not going to sleep but want to try my new Slice machine.
I have been saving change and some bills in a large bottle. The last day or two I have emptied it so I have some extra money. I am putting a lot of the coins back so have that to clean up. It’s all over the floor in the bedroom. I must have saved a couple of hundred dollars.
I don’t think I’ll make my bed since I am all alone. I never miss a day when my hubby is home. The odd day when I don’t make it he will make it sometimes but often just leaves it.
My hands are so dry from washing them often and using PURELL. I wanted to buy some small bottles of hand lotion but the ones at BATH AND BODY works were ten so I didn’t. I bought some stuff for my ex DIL’s mother.
Have a good night.

I’m curious, what is a Slice machine? I’m thinking meat slicer, but maybe not.

I guess the slice machine has something to do with scrapbooking?

Glad you had fun shopping. I agree with you on Barbie dolls. Not even teen girls are shaped that way. Love,

Do they still make Tinkertoys or Lincoln Logs? We used to love those, and they’ll bring out the creative side in your grandchildren…. ~M

I’m all for buying the kids arts and crafts supplies! And books, cuz if they’re NOT reading or being read to…. they should be! Or legos or how about a Lite Brite? I don’t buy my grandson Jake those expensive video-type games either. I buy him board games, but then, his family is usually too busy to play them with him so we only play them when we go to visit! Still, he enjoys them at those times…. hugs, Weesprite

I read a survey or poll recently where the majority of the responders throw their spare change into a jar and save it up. It’s a good way to save. I think craft things are a great idea. Last Christmas, I gave my granddaughter a jewelry making kit. She had a great time making her own jewelry. Books are another great gift idea.

Thanks for the request to add you!! I remember we used to be faves. I am glad to be faves again!! BigHUgzzzz…

Oh, sorry, P.S. I totally agree with you about the gifts for your grandchildren. I also don’t buy mine anything DS, Nintendo, or computer related!!!! I try to think of crafty things, as well, or even books!! Golly, they don’t know what they are missing these days, from all this technology!!!!! bighugz…

i always buy blake a book or two even though i get him video games. what is a slice machine? take care,

It sounds a good idea to buy what you think your grandchildren should be playing with. A wider variety of toys and activities may widen their interests.
