STRESSED AND NERVOUS -OK
I am getting more and more stressed out with the HINI virus and getting ready to leave for Florida. It’s coming down to the wire. Just a little over two weeks to go but so much to do until then. It seems that the elderly are not at risk. They are at the end of the lists for people to get immunized. I am trying to find out if my hubby can get it before he leaves on Saturday. What are the chances? Probably none. I really don’t want to take it but just not sure. There is so much hype about it. I keep thinking that the shot will kill me. My gut instinct is NOT to take it.
Yesterday I went shopping for Hanukah presents etc. I was so upset. Things here are so much more expensive than in the US. I just can’t believe the difference in prices. Shoes that I like are 175 here and in the US are less than a hundred. We also have a lot of tax on top of the price. I priced some toys at COSTCO. When I go to the States I’ll be able to compare prices. I am planning to go the US any day now – just waiting for my hubby to leave on Saturday.
My stained glass went well yesterday. I cut out all my pieces. Next week I have to grind them into shape. Hopefully I can finish them in the next two weeks because after that I’ll be leaving for Florida.
I must make an apointment to cut my hair and pedicure. Planning to do it this morning.
Still on the line to fin out about the HINI shots.
Other calls will just have to wait.
I think the media has whipped everyone into a frenzy about the h1n1 virus. I went online last night and looked at Stats Canada site. Between January 1 & October 27, 2009, there have been a total of 84 deaths across Canada due to the virus. If I was going to stress out about this virus, I’d be stressing out about getting into my car every morning and driving to work.

I agree with above noter — way too much hype!

in new hampshire there would be no tax on shoes. and lots of other things that other states tax. my gut instinct is to not taking the h1n1 flu shot even if it’s offered to those my age. take care,

Yeah, I was not going to bother getting a shot, but the ‘pandemic’ situation is starting to hit closer to home. All the same, I am not prepared to spend eight hours standing in line for the vaccination.

I am not getting the shot. I think the flu thing has been blown way out of proportion. If you have a strong immune system and wash your hands frequently and avoid exposure as much as possible, you will be OK. The new vaccine has not been tested enough. I say trust your instincts on this one.

My son is a biology major. He has talked to the professor of infectious disease at his university. She has worked in many third world countries like Africa, Indonesia, etc. The virus doesn’t infect older folks as much. We have had so many virus’s we have much ammunity. I’m not getting the shot. Go to the doc if you have the symptoms. It’s treatable. Wash wash wash wash your hands!! Biggest hugs

Wash your hands often and keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth. That’s the best advice against getting any type of flu, including H1N1.

more people are dying of regular flu, its just not as well publicised because its not dramatic enough. Try not to worry……more people also die of stress-related illnesses. hugs P

I have read and heard on the news that if you were born before 1950, they think you have a natural immunity because of the flu viruses around in the 30’s through the 50’s. I am not going to take it. Only time I ever was sick with flu like symptoms was the 2 times I got a flu shot.
